I had a different thought - that I was so pleased for Rhyce that he was out of that disaster zone.

As a Melbourne-based Swan of many, many years, I've found plenty of reasons to thoroughly dislike most other Melbourne clubs. I have a soft spot for the Demons but can't stand all the other clubs.

I can't stand the Bulldogs but it's only because of 2016. And as much as what happened on Grand Final day that year still makes my blood boil, I don't actually hold it against their supporters. But North Melbourne supporters are feral and have been for years. And their treatment of Goodesy was abhorrent! As a result, I was more than happy to see them cop the thumping they received on Friday - even if it was at the hands of another club that I'd like to see fail. I have no problem at all watching North flounder!

What's going on at the Saints? So far they are a shadow of last seasons team. Currently 19 pts down early in the second.....against the Bombers?! Sheese!

Injuries are hurting them stevo, but really struggling thus far. Its only the injectors though - they can't play 4 quarters surely...

Maybe they can.....up by 50 pts now, 13 minutes into the third.

So I don't really know if Essendon are better than we thought, or if St Kilda are having a total shocker. Still, it suggests that we shouldn't take them lightly on Thursday.

West Coast making a mess of Port. Suddenly Port's midfield is looking a bit overrated.

It’s so fickle ... rating and assessing the future of the teams and the commentary surrounding it. Everyone raves about st kilda last season and thought that Fremantle were ahead of us and Adelaide in terms of rebuild.
Adelaide is certainly punching above it’s weight and Fremantle and st kilda look very poor. Yes they have injuries galore that itself could explain lack of continuity but it also means that their depth is terrible especially st kilda since they were hoping to be finals bound this year again.

Its all looking relatively even to me. Richmond and Port going down shows that nobody is unbeatable. Only certainty seems to be a North spoon. I'm off to Geelong v Hawks tomorrow. Should be another close one.

I'm thinking the best result for the giants this year is bottom 4 finish, sack leon, not lose any players, get don pyke, and draft another good kid.

Anything else is just a long slow death over the next 5 years.

Who cares about the Giants? And they better not come anywhere near Pyke. They can promote Stevie J to head coach if they get rid of Leon.

Clarko is going somewhere other than Hawthorn. Could be the Giants

That might add a bit more spice to the local derby.
