I confess I'm a little surprised to see Wicks with the maximum votes. Not that he wasn't good. He played his role beautifully. But his goals were him getting on the end of great work from other players (and the Richmond defence not seeming to realise he was playing).
What an awesome thing this is. A category B rookie who has fought tooth and nail to be the best he can be has got the full 10 coaches votes playing his first game at the MCG against one of the greatest modern teams. Well done Sam Wicks.

I read the article and then noticed one of the pictures, see below. When I realised the picture is a visual pun.

        charlie & Horse.jpg

It's a picture of Charlie standing next to Horse. And John is grabbing at his arm, almost as if suffering from a 'Charley Horse' - boom tish

And then I realised who Charlie Gardner reminded me of, see picture below of our football manager modelling the new 1899 Heritage Round guernsey and beanie combo.

Of course. But it was still very funny!
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

The Sydney Swans are no joke and no fluke, and the AFL's new darlings are changing perceptions by the week

Nice writing. I don't know if we'll ever get back to being everybody's second favourite team, but we should be the second favourites of a few more people. I mean, many people would have enjoyed seeing Richmond run off their feet.

It’s funny how the tone has shifted back to us being a bit of a ‘second favourite ‘ for many at the moment. Or at least people enjoying watching us play ( and smash Richmond no less, everyone bar tigers fans enjoyed that ). The academy noise is already infecting some here though. Customer today was quick to mention how unreal our academy is , with 3 RS noms in a row ! I set him straight obviously.
