Yes, so great to beat Essendon and to get the 4 points when when we weren't at our best!

    Go you wonderful little Cygnets!!

No remonstrating. No posturing in the umpire’s face. Just matter of fact. All class.
Yes he is all class. At the time I didn't hear what he said and I thought it was a goal because he wasn't remonstrating. The replay clearly showed it was touched.

Our little cygnets are rippers - but our old Swans are clearly feeling a breath of fresh air and new energy too!

Thought Parker was our best tonight, but most of the midfield was good: Mills, Kennedy, Warner, Florent, with another great effort by Hickey in the ruck. McInerney had some excellent passages of play. As did Gulden. Reid took some telling marks. Good to see Buddy again. Shame about Heeney: hope the break's not too bad. (Longmire just mentioned 3-4 weeks)

Brilliant game by Reid. I don't think we win without him.

Campbell had some decent flashes - you felt confident when he took clean possession.

Gulden was great in the first half, so smart. Obviously could have kicked better for goal.

I think Logan made a good contribution in the the last. Some desperate plays and rucked.

Nine day break - they'll be right.

I thought Gulden's last quarter was pretty good. Hard at it, put himself in the game. Sprayed a couple of shots but won the footy to get to that spot. I mentioned during the week that the dewy ground starts this week and it looked like it blunted our disposal. Plenty of room for improvement. Boy is Heeney unlucky with injuries.

I don’t see anything in Bell . I’m normally optimistic on most players but he doesn’t seem to have any stand out attributes. Please don’t play him again. He is an adequate ressies player but nothing more

                        Phew! Made it!

Now give practice time for KICKING!

The hard work was there but we weren't cutting up the Bombers as we did with the others we've played. And there is no substitute for practicing. We'll be OK for the Giants.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

It was a hard game to analyze. The moist conditions had some impact, but who can say how much? It's easy to say that if we had kicked straight for goal ,we could have run away with the game. True, but we didn't kick straight.

Errol came back to earth. He did a lot of good things, but his kicking was way off and he made some poor decisions in the last minutes of the game, when it more important to keep the ball in our forward end of the ground than trying to kick a winning goal. Same goes for Blakey, who should know better in his 3rd year.

Hewett didn't look too good on tv. Maybe those at the game can contribute something one way or the other.

McCartin also had his worst game of the season. He looked a bit ordinary at times. Maybe he lost fis footing in the wet conditions.

Something I've noticed with the centre bounces is that we are winning the clearances, but when the opposition win the ball, they often break away for a clean kick to their forward line. We don't seem to have a method of how to handle the lost clearances so we don't leak too many points that way.

Bell was shocking and shouldn’t play again. Frustrating that he was a sub ahead of Stephens or Hayward.

Reid, Parker, Rampe, Hickey, JMac all superb.

Agree he looked a class below and I was also surprised/miffed he was sub. Suspect Rowbottom in for Heeney and a different sub next week.

I worry that he's a bit stodgy for defence - seems a vulnerability. Certainly no longer has a place in the midfield.

He's the 21st or 22nd player and I can't see him moving up.
