I guess at any point at least one of Hickey, Sinclair, Buddy, or McLean will be on the bench because you can’t really have Sinkers, McLean, and Buddy all in the forward line at the same time.

I'm slightly disappointed we retained Sinclair. I would have preferred Stephens. Or Blakey, if we wanted someone taller (albeit Blakey isn't a strong mark and hasn't learned how to use his height to maximum advantage). All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

Backline looks strong. Good team. I hope the forwards are able to apply enough pressure. All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

On the AFL site : There are FIVE listed as Interchanges
[38] Colin O'Riordan, [18] Callum Sinclair, [1] Chad Warner, [8] James Rowbottom,
[22] Nick Blakey
But there are only THREE EMG: [5] Isaac Heeney, [2] Kaiden Brand, [32] James Bell
However on the Swans Site:
4 Interchange
Josh Kennedy Chad Warner Colin O'Riordan
Errol Gulden
4 Emergencies
Nick Blakey Dylan Stephens Kaiden Brand George Hewett
So EITHER Bell OR Stephens ?? and
EITHER Hewett or Heeney should NOT be in the Emergency list and Blakey is the likely Med Sub???
Umpires are Jeff Dalgleish (7), Curtis Deboy (11), Brendan Hosking (16). Hopefully they are not going to make so many mistakes.Comment

I am bemused by the omission of Stephens. He needs consistent games and the "G" might just suit him. Thought he was ok last week.Comment

I think there is something about Dyl's game the coaches don't like. It just seemed strange that it took so long for him to get a start, with even Bell playing in preference to him. Now after one game he has been dropped. I'm not sure what it is. I thought he played well last week, providing some good outside run. Perhaps it's his defensive pressure?Comment

Someone has to play a defensive role on Langdon. They may have brought in Fox for that job over Stephens.Comment

Agree about Stephens and Sinclair. Thought Stephens was good last week. Perhaps he'll be the sub; though I would prefer a late change. Little bit surprised that Fox was rushed back in, too. While he made a classy return in the VFL, it didn't occur to me that management had that high an opinion of him, as he was delisted last year.Comment

I get the Sinclair inclusion, even if it wouldn’t be my choice. It’s structural, as if he goes out, McLean has to ruck at times, and would leave us with Bud as a sole tall up forward. And then when Buddy needs a rest from that, McLean is the sole tall. So I get it.
Stephens is the surprise for me. I thought he was good last week, without being outstanding. There is something on positioning or defence the coaches want from Stephens they think they ain’t getting. And there must be something off ball from Gulden they are getting not to give him a rest.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment

I don't think Hewett is an automatic selection. We need more running power out of defence.
I'm reconsidering playing both Fox and COR in the same defence. Maybe we can do it and move Lloyd to the midfield. We are in the process of changing our defensive exit strategy and don't really need Lloyd's short kicking game back there now. Lloyd is a clever player with good skills. He plays well just off the contests, where he finds plenty of the ball and is a good link up player.
I can see a defence with McCartin, Melican, Rampe, COR, Fox and Cunningham, with several option for the 7th defender, like Campbell or Mcinerney. Good physicality, good pace and solid kicking.

It appears that we are trying to stretch them for height in the forward line, taking advantage of the lack of experience of Harrison Petty and forcing Lever to guard someone, which he doesn't like to do. We will probably be bombing it in to the forward line with the current setup.Comment

I don't like the selections.
We don't seem to have the speed or stamina that has served us so well so far this year. Sinclair seems a waste of a selection with McLean and Hickey in the team
