Match Thread. Swans v Hawthorn

Muted in the first quarter. Never a great sign.

I'm often in trouble with Mrs MCS for getting frustrated too loudly when watching at home. Usually I get through to about the 3rd quarter before I'm told off... didn't even make quarter time tonight

God afl is such a @@@@ sport where any free kick can be anything you want it to be. Yeah we deserved to lose but the last 3 weeks have shown that umpiring interpretations of normal rules.can swing so drastically in favour of whoever you want it to favour

Yeah we were amazing in the first few weeks but you look at the free kick count then too.
We won the free kicks in easily cause we were the underdog and we were the romantic team to go for

Until umpiring is made a legit career this sport will always be rigged

Its a key reason why I pretty much don't watch any other games anymore outside of the Swans games. It infuriates me nothing else when I have nothing on the line watching 2 neutral teams.

3 umpires, 3 rule books it feels like these days.

As you say, make them @@@@ing professional already AFL and do something about improving it. Not sit on your hands and pretend its all okay.

I don't know what app waswan is using, but Amartey had 12 possessions, not 8. Also: 7 tackles, 2 goals, 5 clearances, 5 score involvements, 2 contested marks.

But his positive impact on the game was evident without reviewing his stats.

It was a 12 disposal, 2 goal, 7 tackle, 5 clearance game.

He wasn’t BOG but he showed he belonged. He also put on a great run down tackle on Jaegerbomb (and was awarded HTB)

Them and the fairypuppies and Carlton can all go rot somewhere damp and horable for mine. Hate those 3 clubs so much. So disappointing to lose to them like that when they are such a turgidly bad team at the moment.... Clarkson really does have the wood over longmire too often it seems.

I don't think that's completely right even when I looked down today and didn't watch the footy I heard the whistle I knew it was going to be free Hawthorn so I knew what the umpires call was going to be

I didnt get to watch but umpiring aside (not that a game has ever been 7 goals from umps) that is a stain on the season,disgraceful

12 possessions and 2 goals 1. Should have been 3. He looked good had a crack and showed something. Offers more than Sinclair.

Umpiring was abysmal but we were outclassed all over the ground.

If you're off a little bit in effort and energy, you'll lose. We were flat and tired and they were up and about. 8- 5 is way above expectations at the start of the year. Let's see how we go. Big improvement on last year so far.
