Any of his close contacts within the club will now be treated as Tier 2, meaning they'll need to isolate till they get negative test result. Apparently a big name player from the other clubs is Tier 1.

More details to come I imagine. This will no doubt impact our preparation for game tomorrow depending on test results. Fingers crossed as this has potential massive ramifications on a lot of fronts.
Report now four Swans officials. Attending the rugby is not overwhelmingly smart.

      Hmmm interesting! Not good!!

There were Swans players at that rugby match too, so i have to assume they were seated in a different section to the officials??

Weird times we live in!! Hope everyone is safe and well

Update: Tom Morris reporting 4 Swans officials involved, not sure if they're coaching or administrative staff. Essendon has 1 player who is not playing this round anyhow. Norf & Essendon have officials also involved but are not suspect to be coaching staff.

AFL had sent directive to players on midday Thursday to restrict their movements. Rugby game was 2 nights earlier, so no protocols were breached. Just bad luck but nevertheless a lesson to be always vigilant in these uncertain covid times.

Apparently Toby Green also attended the game on Tuesday night but was seated in a Tier 2 section, which he has since isolated & tested negative. He's been cleared to play tomorrow.

Anyone want to guess where our next game versus Freo is played? I know Freo have suggested Optus Stadium but I can't see that happening - I guess it will be Metricon or the Gabba

If we weren't in finals contention, the allure of taking the gate from an Optus Stadium game might appeal. As things stand, I reckon Optus is close to the least likely ground for it to be played - well, more likely than anywhere in NSW, but still highly unlikely. Maybe we should offer to spread some footy love down to Tasmania. We have a very good record playing in Tasmania over the last few seasons, while it's about the most awkward travel arrangement for Freo and one they don't seem to respond well to.

I just want to give a shout out to all the Victorian and NSW posters on here. All of you should be able to enjoy a footy filled weekend, especially with the Sydney / GWS derby but this damn virus has you all locked down. Hang tough and hopefully our Swans will being some cheer to you all.

Totally with you on this one Barry …when a team performs like they have you don’t single someone out and drop them when they’re improving and doing their role …people will work their way into the team when it’s more obvious to make changes …Longmire is all over this

Nick "the Lizard" Blakey plays game 50 tonight!! Congrats to the young man. Have loved his reinvention as a slick half back this season!!!

Of note.. he has actually only PLAYED 48 games, but two as medical sub earlier in the year when he never took to the field are counted and so he brings the milestone up this week! What a silly idea that was by the AFL!

                        Go well Lizard!!

                          Brilliant post.

I think Blakey will be quite the revelation off half back. TheBloods was satisfied with Blakey’s performance last week and that’s a big endorsement for Blakey.

I rate what Blakey can do and it’s great to see a home grown Sydney product coming good.

                            Heh..

I value TheBloods' contributions and im pleased he gave Blakey some praise, but i don't believe his opinion is any more or less valid than anyone else's! There are fans who always held faith in the Lizard and I'm thrilled we are being rewarded! Let's hope the Blakey train keeps on rolling!!

I respect TheBloods opinion on young talent. He picked early the potential of J-Mac and Chad.

In contrast TheBloods has been tough on Blakey and Rowbottom.

If TheBloods endorses a performance from Blakey, you know it’s been an outstanding performance.

You will know when Rowbottom has really arrived when TheBloods has given his performance an endorsement.

A tough but fair judge with great football knowledge is TheBloods.
