Anyway, a great win by the boys....solid start to the season. Looking forward to the post match analysis from those who saw the game. Roll up, roll up!

        +1
Well stevoswan- Parker won us the game with his goals. He spent almost the 2nd half in the forward line. Hickey was strangely off the ground for a fair while in the 1st half.

Paddy McCartin was very good - especially considering it was his first game for a few years - he will strengthen our backline.

Stephens was probably the best I have seen him - not great - but comfortable at the level. Good result against a good side.

Outstanding win. They were red hot in the first half so to push on was brilliant.

We’ve been truly blessed to have Luke Parker as part of this footy club. We’ve got a lot of young talent, but what they’ll learn from playing alongside him will be a blessing for them.

That’s the game I’ve been hoping for from Florent. Outstanding. Heeney and Gulden spending more time around in the ball worked superbly. Blakey brilliant and the McCartins were superb in the second half.

And Stephens was good, without doing anything special. He will warm into it and get confidence from that

I thought the McCartins getting on top in the second half, was really instrumental in turning the game. We were then able to run them ragged with our rebound. Blakey managed 629 metres gained: which is a lot, and I expect that most of them were in the second half. Rowbottom topped the side for tackles, clearances and contested possessions: so a great inside game. Mills was tireless. Florent, Gulden, Campbell, Stephens, McInerney and Heeney all had some classy touches. And Parker has started his Skilton Medal defence in excellent fashion.

            Tadhg's votes on ABC Radio: Parker - 3, Florent - 2, Green - 1.

We almost totally matched. As someone who never fully trusts my perceptions, I quite like that.

Yep. Although you rightly picked up Rowbottom’s work at the coal face.

Great game but a pity the TV broadcast switch to brisvegas.
Would have like to see the song and our two new players in the middle!!

Paying $26 for the Brownlow I am having a a little flutter because I have always felt he will win one so why not this year.

On the way home from the game - ecstatic at the performance. I thought it was a blistering and enjoyable game - sure some skill errors and lapses, but in the end we were harder for longer and this was a sweet, sweet win. So much better to have a game back at the Olympic stadium and not at the giant’s stadium.

It was shown on Fox the two players were only in the middle for a few seconds and then they were incorporated into the rest of the team circle.
I noticed the same thing with Carlton the other night when I was looking for George. The new players get a few bottles of sport drink poured on them and then they join the rest of the team for the song

Completely agree - you mentioned our best players.

Parker is a club great. Wrenched that game from the Giants in the third quarter.

So pleased for the McCartins. After a pretty poor first half, they were both outstanding in the second. Tom laid a big tackle early in the third, and it was clear he'd set himself to atone. He was pretty emotional embracing his brother after the game.

Heeney was influential in the second half: 18 slick disposals in that period (most of anyone), as he sped from packs with a contested ball.

Mature displays from Gulden and Blakey - they are both winners.

I thought Campbell was important with his pace and incisive kicking.

Florent looks to have taken a step.

Hickey is such a wholehearted player.

Yes he was terrific tonight 10 tackles 13 contested possessions but only 18 disposals so will probably cop a serve from some as not working hard enough .
Me personally I reckon it was a pretty fair effort for a 21 year old.
