You idiot. You clearly didn’t read the AFL’s sub clause 8.27 that reads: “Unless the player, in attempting to dispose of the ball, is wearing red, white, and blue. In which case, the tackling player shall have a penalty awarded against them for daring to tackle the red, white and blue player.”
Round 1: the other games. Normal service has been resumed.

This year is going to be really ugly for the Eagles. In another thread I picked them for the spoon. They're down to 25 fit players, and that's just counting uninjured players.
My round 1 tip - Gold Coast will break a record against the Eagles. Possible records that could fall:
* Their biggest win against the Eagles (well, bigger win, they've only beaten the Eagles twice) was a 44-point win at Carrara in 2020.
* Their highest score against the Eagles was 113 points in 2013, in a game they lost.
* Their biggest win was 86 points against Hawthorn in 2017. This was the first time they beat Hawthorn.
* Their highest score was 148 points against GWS in 2013.
Let's just say I am not optimistic about the Eagles' chances this year."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

The fixture for round 1 with last year's finishing positions after finals: 1st v 2nd, 13th v 12th, 10th v 17th, 4th v 8th, 6th v 7th, 5th v 3rd, 14th v 18th, 15th v 11th, 9th v 16th. The AFL appears to have made the first round balanced with teams playing other sides of similar strength."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment

Blues v Tigers game isn't too bad. Good to see Nic Newman selected in what is an obviously improved (early call) Carlton side this season. Good player.....and Hewitt scrapping relentlessly as usual. I'm gonna miss George....but our team probably won't.
Storm leading Rabbitohs as well.Comment

George is playing a very George game isn’t he.
Whether they win or not you can see what’s going to be better about Carlton this year. Curnow has been quiet but adds a lot, as do George and Cerra in the midfield and De Koening I’ve always rated. Plus a fitter Cripps.
We will see if it amounts to anything over a season and I’ll believe it when I see it. Plus it’s more fun to laugh at them. But as someone who’s been scathing about them for years, better to be honest about their potential improvement.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment
