Spot on, Uninformed. Campbell had a great four quarter game- way ahead of Lloyd. Just shows coaches don’t always get it right- Heaney also was better than him. Lloyd’s biggest problem is his erratic, helicopter kicking. I don’t understand why he can’t correct this. Putting him on the wing won’t solve this Ludwig as his kicks will give no chance to our forwards and will result in heaps of turnovers. If he doesn’t improve his disposals he deserves to be dropped!
That’s why Clarke can’t get a game. If we are to make top 4 and compete for a flag we must improve our kicking to position and not over our target’s head or at his feet. We put ourselves under needless pressure with poor disposals and Lloyd is one of the main culprits. Our forwards often are not given a fair chance due to this. What are our coaches doing about it, as it’s been like this for a long time- frustrating to watch week after week!
Lloyd’s kicking has been an issue for a while. We always factor in at least one turnover goal to the opposition from his kick-ins/exits from defence each week. There’s usually an OOTF or direct turnover every game. Sometimes more than one…,. The advent of Campbell and Blakey providing far better kicks out has only highlighted this deficiency.

Lloyd had the best kicking efficiency for the club last year, at 87%. He's #4 this year at 80% while also leading in disposals. He's played on the wing, or has found himself running down the wing, at times over the years and has delivered well into the forward line. He's kicked a few nice goals as well.
I know he's made some poor kicks that were intercepted this year, but his record over the years has shown that he's one of the most accurate kicks we have. I wouldn't be thinking of dropping him at all. It's just an overreaction to a few mistakes over a scant few games.
John's comments on Ladhams in the press conferences today and after the game were interesting. He seems to view Ladhams as being at the start of a development curve, with a fair bit if progress to make! It's left me wondering whether the club has revised its estimation of Ladhams downwards since his arrival.
I think we all have. It's a little disappointing frankly.
Every time I see him, he looks like he doesn't really want to be here. It's a bit perplexing.

Time will tell I guess.
I know I’m an optimist but surely it is too early to write a bloke off after 1 senior game at a new club especially when it’s documented that he had an interrupted preseason.

Maybe I was a bit too harsh on Lloyd, Ludwig. He is a good contributor in most games and generally plays well. But I have trouble accepting his kicking efficiency you bring as I’m not sure how it’s measured. If he doesn’t hit a target cleanly, I don’t rate that as efficient and if you watch his kicks, most go almost as high as they go long- that’s his basic problem and it hasn’t improved. He takes a lot of kick-ins and I shudder most times. He has kicked some nice goals and I’d be happy to have him move to the wing but want him to kick the ball flat to a team mate, unless he has a shot for goal. I don’t understand why an otherwise excellent player who has won our B&F can’t regularly hit a target to the target’s advantage.

I've often wondered too what counts as an effective disposal.
Taking our opinions out of the equation, there is anecdotal evidence that Lloyd is a reliable kick. Over the better part of the past 5 years, our coaching staff have constructed a defensive game plan to get the ball in Lloyd"s hands to get the ball out of our defensive zone. This is whether it's via kick-in, or freeing him up to receive the ball to start our rebound, and we have a team that's been one of the most effective at this part of the game.
We now have Blakey and Campbell in defence, both of whom are accurate kicks and long kicks as well. So we are seeing a change in our backline. But the case can be made that our coaches have until this point believed Lloyd was the safest bet to transition from defence to offence. He probably comes under the most scrutiny, because he's the one most often put in those delicate situations when mistakes can be costly. It's not easy to put these things in a larger context.
I don't think anyone is saying Lloyd will definitely not be valued the same at the Swans as maybe other teams may value Lloyd
But if I was NM I grab Lloyd in a heart beat to support their blooming mids.
We have completely changed our kicks ins and also dependency on one player like Lloyd to qtr back our exists and transitions
We have now a serious mix of kicks from the backline and that changes everything re who we want to keep at the club as our players become very wanted by other clubs
These guys are a serious kick
Campbell
McInerny
Lizard
P Mac
Cunningham
Rampe
Lloyd
On the topic of Lloyd, I was in the big Swans contingent behind the goals against the Bulldogs a couple of weeks ago. They were dominating the midfield and clearances, and our backline was under siege. I thought that he was one of our players that showed real composure under that unrelenting pressure in the first half in particular. He will be an asset to us going forward for sure. I don't want to see him playing elsewhere.
The crowd does not get pumped up and noisy by these type of contested scrambly games with so many stoppages usually only by fast overlapping and mercurial risk taking play.
Missing Paps for to help with this.
You just have to put up with these type of games sometimes.
