    What the frack!

Team 2022 embarrassed themselves today in front of Team 2012. You would hope they would be inspired by the presence of that great Premiership winning team. Time and time again we wasted opportunities going forward with long kicks that went straight to Suns players. That’s not just poor play, but also poor coaching.

Was Gulden actually playing and Ronke? I don't think I saw them at all (at the SCG game)?

I was at the recent game in Launceston and experienced the team playing the same absolutely awful football. As in holding the ball until players upfield were manned up and then kicking it to a player who was being marked by someone twice their size, that is if it went anywhere near them, or to a pack where our talls were being out-marked.
Then upfield players were playing from behind, unable to make space, so no movement. Where is the running and making-space game we were playing? Too many players seem to be playing with their footy brains in their pockets and also expecting too much from too few.

Today, unfortunately for us all, they did not get to flick the switch in the last quarter as happened in the Hawthorn game, much to the amazement of everybody! A lowering of expectations and a large dose of patience may be required of us as this season rolls on, if we don't or can't change up a few things.
The playing from behind can work if you have players able to kick to advantage often enough. But that is not us.

What frustrates me is how much we defend from behind and give up easy goals because of it. The two big Macs can get away with it, but our smaller defender aren't quite good enough to do it consistently anymore.

Haven’t watched the game due to an afternoon commitment.

Should I even watch the replay?

Who should be in the firing line this week?

Chad got over 100 dream team points so things can’t be all bad.

No unless you wanna get more grey hairs.

Gave away so many frees due to dumb play along with 4 50 meter penalties for going over the mark.

In the 4th.. we were held goalless wanna know the only person who kicked 2 goals LEVI CASBOULT

Oh dont forget all GCS had to do in the last was just clog up the corridor and we kept turning the ball over and over down the middle.

Conclusion we are miles away from a flag with this group.

Rampe did as well as he could on Chol.

Paddy was good just a bit to many turnovers tho.

Let’s hope the lads take this to heart and not let it happen again. Maybe the 2012 team could have played instead?
It happened against North, Dogs and today truthfully we have been pretty poor this season.

Thought we had improved from last year but I was wrong. Bottom eight side we are. Umpiring was a absolute joke with 50m penalties and the fact Gold Coast players were never guilty of holding the ball, whereas we were always guilty.

Well we didn't exactly improve in the off-season did we? lost Dawson and Hewett picked up a serviceable ruck tho.

We will do well to play finals from here imo.

                    People are catastrophizing.

                    Pull yourselves together.

Record is 5-3. Only 7 more wins to play finals.

The world has not caved in.

The boys will regather themselves this week and focus positively ahead.

So you spend hours and hours and countess hours each week spouting amazing opinions on RWO, but when it comes to the actual match, you don't watch it? Wow. Great work. I really haven't missed much here eh?

Have to agree. Today seemed to be a reality check didn't it? Truth is, we haven't been playing well for the past month imo. There were times today that I wished we had those two back.

In brighter news, my Missus was out and I gave myself license to let every single expletive known to humanity rip at the top of my voice. When I heard the front door open I quickly composed myself. She walked back in during the fourth quarter after a stint at the shops and asked how we were going. My reply was not too good in a surprisingly demure voice.

Side note: she always thinks I get way too invested to the point where a loss like today affects my mood for the weekend.

Second side note: she's right. As if that's debatable!

You'd think I'd feel better after some swearing therapy, but felt flat at our lack of fight and poor skill execution. I'm lowering my expectations for the year after that performance and think if we scrape into the finals, we'll be fortunate. Only the boys' actions on the field now can change that. Let's see if they respond next week.

Interesting that horse was questioning their training approach with six day breaks in the press conference. Not too put their effort all on that but it’s concerning that the club hasn’t changed their approach at all? We have a history of losing to lesser teams after the short breaks.
