You’re correct barracuda. I’m yet to be convinced, though his game against the Bombers was very good but I don’t know if he beat Dyson Heppel- the Bomber defence in general was pretty awful, hence my point above about our next 3 games. The 2 goals he kicked could and should have been kicked by any AFL player, tbf.

So unlike you TB, who has written RB off, I wait for Wicks to convince me and in the meantime acknowledge that Horse and others on here see more in him than I do.
Ha ! You were dropping him for a kid 2 days ago

You're ignoring the hard work he did to get to the position to kick those goals, particularly the second one. I bet he was half way up the ground, influencing a contest, just a few seconds before he received the ball in the forward line with his opponent trailing far behind.

Actually he had just got smashed back on the wing laying a tackle

Seriously? What circumstances? Being Tom Lynch in a game of football?

Other players have got off after arguing that they were pushed into the contest (don't ask who....you know I'm right) and it is never 'reasonable' to raise the elbow.....except if you're Tom Lynch apparently.

It completely sucks.....but that shouldn't surprise anyone.
Its certainly a tough call stevo. Glad i was not in the room making the decision. Rowbottom's bread and butter as a footballer is to attack each ball and opponent with full intensity.. one has to wonder whether this will effect him.. make him second guess his approach.. injuries last year, now a suspension.. he could be at risk of becoming a 'compromised' player.. this is what i call those players who have had enough things happen that have dented their confidence that they become so far removed from the player they were.. Matthew Ling was a great example.. actually managed to get himself fit after a few tough years with injuries but never quite looked like the same player.. the mind plays tricks on you, it's as great an obstacle as any in professional sport. A sizeable test ahead for James. Let's hope he is up to it.

Draper comes hard from behind. He uses his arm in a downward motion fist clenched. His forearm comes across and down Blakey's head. Someone on Big Footy said when they sw it they thought Draper had killed him. It was a very violent motion and should have been cited. He made no attempt to hit the ball, only the head, which he did hit and in the aftermath the ball came out of Blakey's hands on his way down

At the time all 3 were very good and the forward pressure was manic. Add to them Edwards and Lambert. Butler left because of salary cap squeeze. Castagna is still a good player but his accuracy has deserted him. Rioli had a huge form slump but is playing well at HB. But in come Shai Bolton. What a star, a star who's forward pressure is manic

Why bother with deck chairs. Just plonk him in the mids. He's a. I'd being played out of position. The experiment has not been a success. Let him get his, teeth into the mid role

                                In Clarke
                                Out Rowbottom

Clarke is no star but he can play a tagging role and has plenty of grunt around the contest which is what we really need to match Carlton in the contest.

Cripps, Hewitt and Walsh are a formidable starting midfield for us to counter. Hopefully, we can nullify them on the night. Cripps is the one that most worries me as he is in rare form and can be a match winner if we give him too much room.
Campbell is a midfielder being played as a back. It is not working. Put him in the mids. He is a natural mid
