Having now read up on the issue it seems the issue had been resolved between the players, Netball Australia and the sponsors.
And then some ill tempered, and ludicrously entitled multimillionaires got wind of what was going on and went all diva. Cancelling the sponsorship with Netball Australia, and then because she'd run out of things to throw at them, cut the sponsorship with the WA netball team.

    Odious person.
An odious person in some respects but is bring defended by a number of indigenous people who work with her and the company on initiatives and scholarships for young aboriginals locally. Not as simple as it seems. Will also keep up sponsorship until a new one is found. Players have shot themselves in the foot I reckon. Insisted on her apologising and distancing herself from her father who has been dead for 30 years. No fan of her politics but seriously?

Gina has done no wrong. How about in dispute with Traditional Owners in every project and goes ahead permission or not. Barnet changed the rules so she would not go to gaol.

Polluting half the world. Killing peoe in mining projects in third world countries by poisoning the water supply.

Racist, Homophobic and treats her kids like prisoners. She's a controlling, psycho.

That’s like the clubs giving a minuscule fraction of their gambling profits to “good causes”. They can always buy someone to defend them … or create respectability by wearing their logo.

"Gina has literally done or said nothing wrong" is pretty damn provocative, you'd have to admit.

It is incredible the number of corporate cheer leaders on some forums (like facebook) who want to suppress individual free speach.

                    (Maybe they are bots)

I would like to see the venn diagram between the 'free speech at all costs', and the 'shut up and just play', media columnists.

You are dreaming if you believe sponsors are not using sport to push a message. Every sponsor expects a return on their investment, and understandably so.

Individual free speech is fine / couldnt agree with it more in an age where if you dont agree with a certain mantra - your opinion is shouted down BUT and this is the big BUT - if Im a corporation and I agree to sponsor your sport (and essentially pay a fair bit of your wage in the process ) then if your not prepared to support my company then you cant expect to also reap the benefits that come from that sponsorship. Why should a corporation throw dollars to support something that clearly doesn't support them.

Most of corporate australia is not lining up to sponsor clubs or sporting bodies . Its quite the opposite . So like her or not , Gina Rineheart had very little to gain from sponsoring Netball Australia - its not like shes going to get extra business from doing this for her iron ore operations ( thats quite well taken care of) . In fact most corporations dont really get much from sponsoring sport and most Ive been involved with only do it because someone at an executive level had a passion for that sport and pushed for it.

There is nothing wrong with having a moral compass.....in fact it should be desired by all....and not this broken era's faux Christian version of a 'moral' compass either.

Lang was an asshole and it's pretty obvious from her history that the apple hasn't fallen far from the tree with this lady and that she was just attempting to 'buy' an improved public image for her and her company with some of her pocket money.

Funny how one side of the fence screams for protection of 'freedom of speech' then when people excercise this right, the same people scream 'cancel culture' when that speech freedom leads to some sort of response. They like to have it both ways......never able to see their own hypocrisy.

I agree that a lot of people are never able to see their own hypocrisy. Especially those who scream how much they hate Rinehart and then use products made of steel or cricketers who hate energy companies but then play night games and fly the world first class.
