    Solid effort

    Adelaide scrap and compete hard

Looks like we are playing a couple guys and persisting with unless they have been given conservative roles.

Normally 4 weeks or so out from finals there has been a load increase for teams at training that are genuine top 4 type teams.

I suspect we would have had a load increase leading into this game especially being on the smaller SCG

It's hard to imagine JPK (assuming he's healthy) not being in the thick of it come finals time. Like Parker, his experience is second to
none. Sure he has slowed down a bit but he was never quick. What he could do is get the ball in a ****load of traffic. Never count
          out a champ like him.

Crowd was a bit soft, just over 25K. I guess people might have got spooked about the weather or the Covid. Personally I don't get it.
It's football, it's a winter sport, yes it might rain a bit in winter and be colder. I dunno, put on a rain jacket or something. Sorted.
And Covid? If you have it, then stay home as you are meant to. But can you actually catch Covid when you are outside? I understand
it's almost impossible to get it that way. And you could wear a mask. I think some of our "fans" are a bit soft sometimes....

Didnt say anything about speed . Nothing to do with speed . Basic manning up . But dont need to worry about it if you are winning the ball instead . Then they are on the chase and we are away

I would dock him one for the handball straight to Berry who kicked a goal, late in the second quarter.

He had 26, so he’s still sweet according to the stupid threshold.

Longmire suggesting very strongly that Josh is a definite part of the plans maybe as soon as next week.
“I’m sure there is a role for him. I can’t tell you what it is now other than the fact we are really confident he has played two games now and he’ll be confident in himself to play what we need him to do,”

We won the stoppage clearances but lost the CB clearances. I think the problem is more to do with being dominated in the ruck than problems with our midfielders. Hickey on had 63% TOG. Adelaide were better set up at the CBs. There are clearly things we have to work on. Of Hickey is going to be off his game, then we have to set up more defensively at centre bounces.

JPK's can win the ball at stoppages, but doesn't do much with it. He causes a lot of repeat stoppages, which don't favour us, generally speaking. He's not a good defensive midfielder due to his lack of speed. He does bring a lot of class and experience to the side. I still see his role this year is best as the medisub.

Agree with this but fear Longmire's affection for him will see him back in to our detriment in terms of speed and ball movement.

You have been trying to retire him all year

The man holds the AFL all time records for clearances and contested possessions. He still has something to offer this side and I have faith he will deliver.
