That is my take as well. Find it bizarre how obsessed they get about this - when in reality, the dimensions of somewhere like Kardinia, Adelaide Oval (i.e. substantially different in both shape and size) is likely to have a far greater impact - and especially on the latter ground, we never hear a peep about it....

The media love in about Collingwood is going to have their heads full of it on Saturday They will come out firing after hearing how amazing they are all week, but if we go match them early, I think we will come way over the top of them in the second half. We aren't $1.40 favourites for nothing with the bookies - they are mugs, but they are that type of mugs.

even better, let's move the centre circle 2 metres either way, that will surely stuff up their preparations

Which part of my summation is wrong exactly?

You are basically presenting our hopes resting on Chad having an explosive game. And if he doesn't, saying we can't match the explosiveness of De Goey and his buddies and therefore are basically stuffed. What if dare I say it De Goey does jack all as well?

It is a complete disservice to the ability of this team to win in multiple ways, and to the mixture of qualities in our midfield group that, make it as an entity a formidable group.

I think you're giving de Goey way too much credit. He is a good player who has had a good final series so far but the Swans are the best defensive/negating midfield in the comp. We don't rely on one player.

              For what it’s worth

              - despite being tagged, I thought Chad still found a way to play his role against Melbourne. It wasn’t a heavy tag from Brayshaw, but a little more so from Sparrow. Regardless, he didn’t drop his bundle as some young blokes might, held his position at the stoppages and avoided any defensive lapses which suggests he stayed switched on.

              - I appreciate he played better against the Pies last time, and they didn’t have De Goey, but they still had the others and our midfield beat them comprehensively. Mills, Rowbottom and Parker all got coaches votes.

I thought Chad had a very solid game against Melbourne. Discussing the game privately with a friend beforehand, we shared a concern that he might feel he needed to do too much after all the media attention on him. But at no point did he do anything other than play his role. Early on he had the chance to kick a long goal, running into the forward 50, and the Chad of a year ago (and maybe six months ago, if it wasn't to set up Buddy for The Goal) may have taken that shot. But instead he hit Papley on the chest for an easy set shot.

And in the second half, when the team had started to work out how not to bring the ball into the forward line, it was Chad who - twice - perfectly timed simple handballs to a player running past who was then able to pinpoint a team mate close to goal. Encouraging maturity from Warner, and a demonstration of how good the coaching is of this team of some precocious young talents.

I haven't watched heaps of Collingwood this year but of the games I have, I can't remember them tagging anyone. If they didn't tag Brayshaw or Serong last week, they aren't tagging this week. Chad for BOG.

They won't have time to tag anyone. They'll be way too busy with their surveyor gear measuring the ground and making
sure all the ground markings are up to MCG standard.

Ha ha … of course they will be.
And are they up to standard ?
                              Is the 50m arc really 50m , or as some people sometimes remark “That’s NOT 50m , it’s only 45m or 47m or ?

And a 50 x 30 centre "square" like the AFLW at North Sydney
