Are you in the ballot for a GF ticket? I haven't been that well so didn't go into the ballot. I think I will get to Rising Sun to watch the match with like minded people if we make it.

I thought the same myself when I read the paper today. Collingwood are playing themselves in a game in Sydney!

Measured by area, the MCG is 7% larger than the SCG. Is that significant? I honestly don't know. What might be a more accurate measurement of the effect on the players is the differential in the distance covered by the players.

It would seem to me that the MCG would be harder to defend, since there is more space for players to go to, so it should be easier to pick through a team at the MCG that plays a high pressure in your face game. It should be easier to close down the corridor at the SCG.

Bit hard for him if he is being tagged again . Without him we lose that explosiveness in the mids , not great when we are going up against one of the most explosive players in the comp . Parker and Mills are champions but they dont have that

I said he is a champion but he is not explosive , that is a fact . He cant break away from a stoppage like Chad. Pies have a few of those types , De goey , Crisp, Daicos . We are going to be flat footed if Chad is tagged and it will fall to Parker and Mills to carry the midfield and they might not be able to without that speed . Bit of a worry .

                        A couple of points:
                        1. Melbourne's midfield is much better than Collingwood's and our guys did alright against them when Chad was tagged. It's not Chad or bust.
2.Mills, Rowbottom, and Parker are all great tacklers too which will help stifle De Goey et al before they burst.
                        3. At centre bounce we will/can also use Papley and Heeney for speed and power,
                        4. Do Collingwood have a tagger?

May as well just give up now. We simply are not explosive enough in the midfield. Game over already, Pies guaranteed to win.

Yes they didn't have De Goey last time, but we smashed their so called 'explosiveness' throught midfield grunt. But to admit that would need an admission that the whole midfield group contributed to it, wouldn't it. And we couldn't have that when there is at least one player in there that should of been delisted years ago....

If we play anywhere near our best, they can explode as much as they want - they still won't beat us.

And yes - the game is still about more than just Chad. 22 players on each side will decide it. As the first week of the finals showed, we can win without a significant impact from Chad. Would certainly help our cause if we get a great contribution (by the way I think he will play well - this is not taking a shot at him), but we can still win even if he doesn't.

Why don't we put Chad man-on-man against de Goey? Even if it's roughly a breakeven, it's a win for us.

Why do you have to be a smart alec about it . We are discussing the game , i am saying the 1 area that i think is a weakness for us , im not saying the team is hopeless .

Do we realy want them to listen? Maybe it'd be better if the Victorians remain fixated on the dimensions, if it detracts in any way from Collingwoods preparation then I'm all for it.
