In regards to Cabor and Cleary, at this stage they are not that as highly rated by other "experts" as you may think. They both made the Academy squad but even so, they are both ranked outside the top 30 in lists I've seen. At this stage we will have picks 18, 19,3 6, and 37 before either of them gets a bid.
cabor & cleary made the AFl Academy squad. they must be pretty good to make that.

Dalrymple said they rated Vickery at 18-20 which validated the slide to 27. Living in Orbost meant he didn't get as much training in as the other youngsters and this boded well for his improvement.

We've officially taken Edwards as a pre-listed rookie.

                    From Rookie Me Draft Central:

Tasmanian ruck-forward Cameron Owen is far from the finished product, but is one who
earned a State Draft Combine invite following a consistent top-age year. Owen is not an
explosive tall like others, but he is mobile enough that he can get around the ground and
move a little better than some opposing rucks. He finds his fair share of the ball, and while
his consistency is still building, has shown he can present as a leading forward as well as
                    a ruck.
At 203cm, the Tasmanian is a good height, and at 94kg, is more built than many of his peers,
and when presenting out in front inside 50 or around the ground, he is consistent enough
with his hands to clunk them. Again, he is not a superb contested mark, but he can cleanly
take grabs when creating separation on his opponent, and he will always create a contest.
His upside is evident with what he does well, and he has come on in leaps and bounds this
                    year.
Owen still has a number of areas to work on, as his consistency is still not there yet. From
an on-field traits perspective, his ground level work is another area, while Owen missed
chances to really influence up forward, though he presents well. A long-term prospect.

Magor, can play, good pick up. His RookieMe profile is well worth a read.

Was projected to be in ND calculations in the 40's. Plenty of upside, we've gone for upside players throughout, playing the long game.

Young ruck and Magor now makes this a good draft IMO, reserves will be a great watch

Our list is full. In fact, our cup runneth over. Something for everyone. Ruck lovers got their wish and Magor looks a good pick for an end of draft selection. And Magor rhymes with Cabor, who could be an academy pick next year.

The Brisbane Lions added an academy player named Shadeau Brain, so even Brian Taylor has something to cheer about. When I first saw it, I thought it was Pete Ladhams' nickname.

We didn't intend to take two rookies today but obviously Magor still being there meant we had to take him, just too good not to try. I'm excited by this selection

Herald Sun wrote this morning -

                                Jaiden Magor (South Adelaide/SA)
The 185cm prospect entered the national draft as one of the more intriguing prospects, given his best – as an explosive, marking forward or a tough, ball-winning midfielder – was up there with any in this year’s pool.
But an injury in the first half of the national under-18 carnival opener which sidelined him for a number of weeks, and some consistency issues, might have worked against him in the national draft.
The talent and interest is there, however, and Magor could still find a home as a rookie

A few real surprises didn't get drafted, assume they'll all get train over summer spots with a view to clubs adding them before the 2023 season starts
