It is disappointing. I wonder if this decision has anything to do with the way the season ended. It has been streamed more years recently than not, including last year. I do vaguely remember one other year when they decided not to stream it. It's possible that was after another GF loss.
Maybe the thought process is that the mood will be muted rather than celebratory, but there's still a huge amount to celebrate about the season we've just shared.Comment

Data/bandwidth costs? is that a factor? would of been fantastic to celebrate the season for members/supporters who cant be there we shouldnt let a awful 2hr period define our 2022.It is disappointing. From a Swans tweet, at round 18.
Chad might make it!

Maybe. I suspect Mills will hang on. Up until the grand final, he had a better close to the season than Warner. I also expect Parker to come with a rush and finish certainly top four, maybe top three. And Rowbottom to be not far behind him. Top five, I suspect (overtaking Heeney and Gulden and Rampe).
I'm a little surprised Paddy Mac hasn't polled sufficiently to be in the top 10. And Hayward too, though that does raise the question of who in the top ten to this stage I'd take out. Rampe maybe? He was excellent towards the end of the year but less so earlier on.Comment

How bad can our inside midfield group be if all 4 are in the top 8 in the B&F? I know it doesn't tell the whole story, but it does say that the coaches are pretty happy with this group. We have Sheldrick waiting in the wings. Why would we entertain breaking up this group with an outsider on big money?
Also hoping that Gould winning the VFL award will keep him happy at the Swans, at least for another year. Based on his interview, it sounds like he's staying.Last edited by Ludwig; 29 September 2022, 10:12 PM.Comment

Make that top 4 out of 4 for our midfielders. It's hard to make a case that we failed because of our midfield. Warner is only 21 and Rowbottom just turned 22. Still plenty of upside with this group. How bad can our inside midfield group be if all 4 are in the top 8 in the B&F? 100% and Gould has signed in for next year already so he's not going anywhere! How bad can our inside midfield group be if all 4 are in the top 8 in the B&F? On that logic it’s imperative we start recruiting forwards with only one in the top ten.How bad can our inside midfield group be if all 4 are in the top 8 in the B&F? On paper and individually our midfield looks strong. But while the GF was anomalous in the severity of the beating we received, it wasn’t too surprising given the season as a whole the stats showed we were middling as a midfield group. In the first half of the year we suffered some mighty consecutive runs of scores against us, which led to us losing a number of games against non finalists
For whatever reason our midfield as a whole was somehow lesser than the some of its parts. We may need to look at the coaching and the setup (tactics not personnel ) for next yearLast edited by ugg; 30 September 2022, 05:56 AM.Comment

All fair enough and kudos to Mills. What an exceptional year he had.
Four of the top ten 22 or under bodes very well. Nice to see Pat Mc finish so well and that’s a good nod for Wil on the clubman award.
Great effort by Chad in what was his first full season of footy, really. Likewise Errol.
And as for Rowie, enough said.'Delicious' is a fun word to sayComment
