The Swans website's last injury article has already ruled out Hickey for the "first few" rounds. Not sure what you mean by a Roberts style early debut, since he debuted in R11 last year?

Rohan Connolly and Rodney Eade make some comments and predictions about each team.
For the Swans:
Top 4 or 6 is their prediction https://footyology.com.au/footyology...023-previewed/
And Buddy is a distraction and can't bend over and shouldn't play every game
Whlest Isaac Heeney is like a Jordan deGoey, needs more tatts, consistency and can give more.
Also suggested that the Swans outsmarted themselves by not sending Mills to Danger in the GrannyComment

The reference is to Sheldrick debuting early last year (ie round 1) (unlike Roberts who debuted midway through the season).
In answer to the actual question, McAndrew seems the most likely, though maybe not that likely for round 1. I imagine they'll go with Ladhams and Reid to manage the ruckwork to start with, and see how that goes.
Konstanty seemed to be on track for an earlyish debut until encountering an injury setback.Comment

Without any fresh news on the injury front, the Swans look okay for round 1. Ladhams stays in for the injured Hickey. Fox looks unlikely at this time. Clarke is also out, but I don't expect him to get many chances in the senior side this year.
Campbell and Cunningham to stay in the side. Mills and Papley to come in after missing the Carlton match. Roberts may be preferred to Sheldrick as the sub.
We have a good group of first and second year players who will have to fight their way into a solid best 22.Comment

I have not been to training recently. But I was going past Moore Park on Saturday morning and stopped to watch for 15 minutes. It seemed to be a combination of a kids clinic and a light training session. Our listed players were just having a game of soccer amongst themselves.
Of the injured guys, Clarke, Konstanty and Fox were doing some light running along the boundary and kicking the ball to each other. Hickey just seemed to be kicking the ball around.Comment

How confident are we that Reid is playing Round 1? Also Blakey? Are they both definite? I've been waiting to see. Does anyone know how many minutes they played against Carlton? All opinions are not equal. Some are a very great deal more robust, sophisticated, and well supported in logic and argument than others. -Douglas Adams, author (11 Mar 1952-2001)Comment

Apologies if it's already been posted, but saw this preview The 3-2-1 for the Swans in 2023 on Roar.
I don't like "Tall Jesus" as a nickname, much prefer "Wild Thing"Comment

I agree with it in terms of if we win the first two games, it'll go a long way to restoring team confidence and having a consistent and successful season.
We certainly don't want to be on the back foot early.Comment

Really poor form to have your number 1 criteria for success focused on the injury prospects of 1 player. The Roar also don't understand how our midfield functions.
I have generally found the Roar to be very amateurish, which they probably are, and lacking any depth of research.Comment
