Exactly Nico- said the same in the match thread. Frustrating player and still Horse’s pet. Misses the easiest shots with ridiculous regularity! Should be the 2nd to be dropped after Wicks, who may as well be suspended for the rest of the season, followed by JMac and Francis. I wouldn’t rush Buddy back but keep Buller in- so 4 in and 4 out. But realistically Bud will play if fit.

Amongst those boys lining up, are you thinking of Buddy?

Collingwood, in Melbourne. On Saturday morning. They've at least timed the two games such that you can watch the stream of the VFL game and still have plenty of time to get to the SCG for the twilight AFL game. At least, you can if you live within moderately central Sydney.

Probably, who knows what our plans are with him.

I suppose the temptation to take an opportunity to fill ones boots against a team playing dead one last time would be quite strong.

Tex kicked 10. Surely we could have decent enough supply to get an ageing Franklin 5 goals even if he is no longer taking shots from outside 50.

Tom McCartin named in the VFL and alongside Fox (but I suspect he will be our sub), Arnold, Gould, and Edwards we have a very strong looking backline for this game. Nick Shipley also back

No doubt about it. The best backline the VFL team has had all year. Pity the forward line has maybe Buller and HHK but little else.

The named side has a few outs, as well as the mentioned ins.

                        B: W. Edwards (28), T. McCartin (30), W. Gould (17)
                        HB: L. Rankin (41), H. Arnold (38), R. Fox (42)
                        C: C. Mitchell (35), C. Warner (37), J. Tidemann (63)
                        HF: H. Hall-Kahan (45), R. Clarke (4), J. Magor (32)
                        F: R. Fitzroy (68), J. Buller (47), C. Owen (40)
                        R: L. McAndrew (46), N. Shipley (52), D. Stephens (3)
                        INT: O. Davis (66), C. Webster (62)*, J. Bartholomaeus (53), H. Morrison (55), T. Longmire (58)
                        EMG: M. Geddes (61), M. Velthuis (60), E. Grace (65), Ham. Morrison (64)

                        IN: J. Buller, O. Davis, R. Fitzroy, R. Fox, T. McCartin, N. Shipley, J. Tidemann, C. Webster
OUT: J. Brown (concussion), J. Endemann (jaw), C. Vickery (injured), J. Konstanty (managed), C. Cleary, T. Gander, I. Kirk, M. Rider

With the number of talls in the back line, perhaps it might be a good idea to swing one of them forward? McCartin was originally a promising forward prospect. Edwards has played centre half forward at academy level and was quite good at it. Can take a strong grab and can put it through from outside 50. While it might be worthwhile seeing what Gould can do when he's the one being marked, not doing the marking.

I guess the Allies team must be playing this weekend with all those academy players out of the VFL side.

Good to see Shipley back. With Bartholomaeus having played more in the midfield in Shipley's absence, plus Warner, Clarke and Stephens in the side, it's actually not a bad midfield group this weekend.

It's a shame Endemann is injured. He's been quite the improver this season.

No, as far as I know, the Allies don't play again until July 2nd. Perhaps they have a training camp or don't want to overdo the workload?

I've also been liking Endemann. Not sure if he's done quite enough yet to get on to the rookie list, but he has good disposal skills in traffic, rarely gets caught with the ball and can lay a strong tackle.

Well the score is not good for us 4 goals to none. BUT, we did finish the 2nd part of that 1/4 well and had a lot of the footy. Anyone in Melbourne today could tell you there is a strong breeze and it looked like we were kicking against it.

Shipley is a player I'd pay for next 2-3 years just to play reserves - very composed. Buller is a very good mark. Great to see McCartin out there too - playing in the backline.

Turned it on late, so I missed the four goal start that we gave Collingwood. What I did see, we had marginally the better of the play, but blew our chances and kicked a couple of behinds.

Looks like both Clarke and Fox are missing. Buller has been doing well, taking a couple of strong marks when venturing up the ground. McCartin going well in his return.
