Round 5 v Richmond at the Adelaide Oval for Gather Round
Wow, swans really surprised me there. They looked totally flat, then suddenly turned it on! My points go to Papley, Heeney and Campbell for standing up.
Heeney seems to have found a bit of form but the form of Parker, Hayward and Stephens is a worry.

Hayward has had his moments tonight. We need to focus more on getting him on the lead as he is a good contested mark. Important in the last quarter there.
Well done boys - very important win tonight and dug deep when it looked a real worry at 3/4 time!

Yes boys! And Papley with a career high 6 goals. Love how the Melbourne commentators kept referring to Tiger's injury list but not mention ours once. That's what being from Melbourne, and a one quarter 38 point turnaround does
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

Blakey was huge too. My BOG, even in front of Papley.
Really liked some of what Matty Roberts did at times too - was quite composed in the second half, and Corey had some moments too - was delightful to see him kick his first goal. A few moments show he has plenty of work to do, but very happy with what he showed.
Gould had some moments to like too - speed of it all took him by surprise but he worked hard.

Papley show! How that game changed in the last quarter. Well done to the boys after losing Almartey early. Decent debut by Corey Warner. Gould was ok as well.
During the evening, they mentioned one of the McCartins would be back next week. Think they meant Tom. So feeling less nervous about next week down in Geelong now.

Garry Lyon saying in the post game that Sydney were in the same boat injury wise as Richmond, so they can't rely on that. Brown also acknowledging the Swans injuries. It is the in-game commentary team that was biased. The main studio panel are ok.
Now you got me thinking how tedious they'd be if they were actually on the beers.

I quite like richo so I give him a pass (and he is always very fair when he talks about the swans), but I'd want sleeping pills if I ever was anywhere near the rest.
Had the unfortunate event of sitting a row behind BT one year on a flight out of Canberra. Doesn't shut up ever I don't think.

That was super impressive to thump the Tigers in the end, The will to win was awesome.
Paps little weave to evade the chaser and a shimmy when required is pure savvy footy.
Hard to teach, beautiful skills.
Those wins really are special. And Paps just played one of the great games we’ve seen, with Blakey not far behind. Real leadership from both of them.
I don’t get the criticism of Hayward. He had most marks on ground and most were contested in those crucial plays on the wing. Heeney’s best game of the year. And thought Lloyd’s experience was crucial tonight.
I also thought it was Campbell’s best game. The Chad was his usual self and thought Ladhams was very good tonight.
Of the young ones, Robert made one or two mistakes, but did a lot right and had a lot of good moments.
