Is this what it felt like to be a Demons supporter in the late 00s?

I actually think it is worth it to leave Gould on Hawkins - at least he understands what it takesComment

I just think we are being outmuscled in some of our games. We just don't have the big bodied players we need and when we play hardened and experienced teams like Geelong, our youth and inexperience and lack of hardness shows.
It doesn't help that our structures are all stuffed because we have such significant players missing. Even having Buddy in the forward line would have helped because he would have taken a couple of Geelong defenders with him...
We have to be patient with these young players. I think the win last week was unexpected just from what the coach said. And I think to expect a win this week was being a bit too optimistic. I would have liked a better showing, but this is what you get with an undermanned and youthful squad.
I am very curious about Parker BTW- Is he carrying an injury?
It's always disappointing to suffer a loss like this. I know- but we're at home next week and might have a better game..This is going to be a long season I fear.Comment

He is the perfect example of the rabbit warren the game is in. Doesn't even try most of the time to correctly dispose it. Knows it is so unlikely he will get done.
Instead of telling the umpires to focus on the basics of the game and key rules, all we get is stupid rubbish like the stand rule instead.

The worry is the VFL and any hope from there - as I read it we have 2 byes in the first 5 rounds - waste of bloody time.Comment

Well done Swans. 3 points in a half of football.
That would be absolutely embarrassing for the team that will run last this year.
We are having a laugh if we think we are anywhere near a contender this year.
The boys should be out there for another 3 hours doing laps and getting laughed at by the Cats fans. Might help them grow a spine.
Absolutely @@@@ing pathetic. They deserve the roasting they'll get from all and sundry this week.
Not looking forward to what Collingwood will do to us in a fortnight at the 'G. Geelong don't play a high pressure game and absolutely we fell to bits at the first sign of pressure. Collingwood will be brewing still on the Prelim loss, and unlike us, they'll actually get stuck in to try and make amends.
Hard to find a winner out there at all tonight. If we had 23 fit blokes to bring in, I'd drop the @@@@ing lot of them.
I feel sorry for those in Red and White that travelled down to that utter toilet of a ground to have to sit through a replay of the @@@@ we sat through at the 'G last year. At least I suppose the ticket wasn't as expensive for them."You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment
