Personally I find Nicholls very officious and pedantic, but he’s usually like that with both sides. Unlike say, Stevic, who obviously has certain biases, and not necessarily just anti-Swans. That one last night was, as you say, a poor decision.

I was impressed with Amartey's brief time on the ground when he replaced the Lizard. His ruck work was very good even though it was late in the game. He is athletic and competitive and a great size. We need to sign him asap to another contract.

I'm really not into self-flaggellation, so I'll pass and see if the cricketers can build on a promising start to the tour instead.

I was at the Dogs/Cats game and he was awful.

[QUOTE=stevoswan;868758]They lost the 2021 prelim by 83 pts.....that's not a GF but it's a big final and pretty recent......so yes.

Absolutely no comparison between a Preliminary Final and a Grand Final, its preposterous to suggest there is. Also waiting for the second Grand Final humiliation Scott coached. Wait you still havent found the first one. Maybe thats because as a coach he took the lesson on board and learned from it.

What did Longmire do? He managed to coach the team to an even worse result in another Grand Final? the extremely impressive!

Simplistic analysis. Getting our list to a GF last year was a massive over achievement as was winning flag in 2012. Hawthorn was a team full of champions compared to us in that era and they showed that in 2014. This year we have been decimated by injuries. You ate too quick to turn and you are not alone on this forum.

I heard Lyons after the game boasting they are still 4th in the league scoring from turnovers and equally he feels they have really strong setup and shape to negate when teams rebound on them

Love his bullish confidence and offensive defence

And his comments were true 1st and 4th qtr last night

Clearly we missed Mills and Parker. They make a massive difference. Throw in them and some decent umpiring and we win.

Buddy should retire now he has played 350. I think without him, our forward line will be much less predictable and also able to apply more pressure when we don't have the ball.

Biggest issue is the ruck. Hickey is done. Ladhams is clearly not the answer either. We need to solve that problem in the off season.

                          Interesting times ahead.

Hickey could be done but it could be lack of fitness due to lack of pre season given lengthy calf injury. Wonder if we give him another year.

As I rode up the hill home, I played a tribute song :

and they cheered me on from their cars and the bus.
and we forgot about the footy for awhile .
Nice story - thanks for sharing.
I too took refuge in music to flush that game out of my system, albeit in my lounge room rather than the glorious surrounds of the harbour.
A couple of high volume crankings of "Keep on Smilin'" by Wet Willie had me feeling considerably better.
My opinion is objective truth in its purest form

Hickey was beaten, but he's seriously underprepared, I don't think he's done.
And as for the MensaLad, I am warming to him and thinks he's definitely a part of the answer.

You could be correct, but Horse acts like a fanboy whenever he's discussed - so the decision is Buddy's.
