We are done for the season and need to think about draft selections. Rampe was not fit and could barely walk in the last quarter, Buddy was out of petrol in the last quarter and could barely run.If he wants to keep playing he has to be the sub. Goodsey played reserves football and so should Buddy. Wicks and Clarke should not be in the side. Both are fearful of putting their body into contests. Only bright light was Sheldrick played his best game.

The umpiring has truly got to a comically bad stage. So desperate to find soft free kicks, but can't or won't enforce the basic key tenures of the game.
Like that one where the guy took Heeney on, got tackled beautifully, then spun 360, then incorrectly disposed of it, all play on. Holding the Ball, Incorrect Disposal - take your pick.
Can't pay that, but desperate to find every little soft free kick in other aspects, let alone pay stupid 50s (while technically there, I don't think either should have been paid - and ultimately quite costly).
That one on Gulden in particular was ridiculous - not arguing Gulden wasn't over the mark, but literally the split microsecond the umps stopped saying 'get back' he then paid 50. He gave Gulden zero chance to actually comply. Nicholls is just unbearably bad week in, week out (not a genuine cheating little @@@@ like Stevic), and then you had painted eyes No 20 who seems to never want to blow the whistle at all, and when he does he just guesses.

because a free would quickly be paid to the tackler if the ball carrier was caught with the ball. There was no extra merit in taking a man to ground. None of this 360 degree stuff . Scragging was not tolerated at all, any sign of an arm around a player was holding the man.The game moved fast and there were not many injuries caused by tackles as there are now ( of course there was the off ball thuggery and shirt fronts but they are 2 things that I don't mind being gone).
Its a completely different game now, and not a better one.

I can only agree with this insightful analysis. Their palp tzeding was far superior to ours, particularly in the final quarter. Who is our specialist palp tzeding coach? Whoever it is, that @@@@@ is maintaining a very low profile. My opinion is objective truth in its purest formComment

Ross totally psyched Horse. He led him like a lamb to the slaughter to a scoreless tussle and Horse obliged. @@@@ing sucked in every day of the week. Horse is a total mung

Disappointing game.
- That first quarter was like we still had the bye and we were having a kick in the park.
- Missed shots at goal killed us again. As well as forward 50 entries.
- Gave away crucial frees in front of goal as well as the two 50 metres.
- Lost Blakey to concussion so he will miss next week. Although he did get injured early so he may have missed anyway.
Now I have to try and sleep as I have jury duty starting tomorrow!Comment

Why on earth do we kick to the dead pocket so often? Surely there must be someone around centred 30 metres out. We either kick it to a small or kick it out of bounds. Fox gets the ball on the wing, dashes clear, a small player leads to the boundary and Fox kicks in a direct line to where he was running straight over the player's head, out on the full by a long way. We do it constantly every week. It's nauseatingly poor play. There is a tiny margin for advantage, yet a massive margin for error.
In the 2nd quarter we finally started to win centre clearances and kicked goals from those efforts, yet we then relax and let them kick 2 goals from disgustingly easy centre beaks.
I thought Jmac was on target for a top game up to half time. Then his other brain took over with his chippy little kicks to either a turnover or no advantage.
People can be critical of Chad but when he got the footy and was ganged up on, he had little or no assistance. But I don't get why he has stopped backing himself running through half forward, whereby he is now Mr. Unselfish trying to give it to someone else. I hope he learns from that stupid kick to I think Wicks where he kicked it over his head, rather than go back and kick for goal.
Collectively our skills are sorely lacking in all departments. It is looking like we have a number of players who lack footy smarts.
We couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with a handful of wheat from a metre away.Last edited by Nico; 8 June 2023, 11:23 PM.Comment
