    That was tedious.

We didn't have a functional forward line. Buddy had a shocker, unfortunately.

Florent was our best. Followed by Rowbottom, who had game high contested possessions and clearances, and was clean.

Silver linings: Campbell was excellent and that was Sheldrick's best game.

    Everything else was pretty @@@@.

Our mids made it so hard for the forwards. Not only that I did not see more than one shepherd today. One. That means our players are not playing for each other. Horse hates shepherd's. He said so. Now it is coming home to bite him. Because Ross loves shepherd's and he @@@@ing beat you Horse

Saints vision and resolve to go hard for Ross is an A plus move.

Their brand of footy is building nicely and very hard to break down. Very hard.

Maybe 5th on the table in 2023 is a pass?

But we did have 5 of so snr best 22s not playing and I must say our game day strategy is lacking any flexibility right now to counter smart teams.

We had nothing to kick to and we were nullified and taken to check mate in the end.
Saints will play a well executed style of football under Lyon. But it is still turgid, defensive driven tripe for mine. They would have been belted by any half decent team tonight - we were just even worse.

They may be hard to break down, but they won't win anything playing the way they do as they won't kick a big enough score to win against good teams. It is a simpleton take - but they really only won the arm wrestle tonight because they kicked straighter in front of goal. And that is against what is a swans team hobbled by injury, and frankly playing very poor footy to boot.

I don't agree. He was on a hiding to nothing. The delivery was so bad. We basically pickesd out their beat defenders all night

I’m very disappointed in tonight’s performance and Longmire is part of that team but our loss should be attributed more towards some really poor execution rather than strategy.

It annoys me that some people seem to take the first opportunity to lay the boot into Longmire without any other analysis. It almost seems like some people are hoping that we lose so that they can be correct about Longmire being past it.

Horse was out coached, outsmarted and totally dominated by Ross and he had no answer. He just yelled. @@@@ you. At least make changes that are going to make a difference. Don't just go totally defensive like you did. Ross knew you would do this. The players did not know who they were playing on. Didn't have a, clue what they were doing and if they got the ball how to get it out. There was nobody to kick to except a big wall of Saints players. You effing idiot. Even up the play. Do not drop everybody back you panicking @@@@wit.

As much as I like Horse, as a person his days of coaching our talented group are over. He panicked. He put every player except McLean back.

Time to look for someone new. I think Horse has taken us as far as he can

We were all over them for most of the 3rd quarter. If we kick straight then we have a handy lead. We ran out of gas in the last quarter partly because we have been forced to play under done players.

                    Rowbottom has improved this year.

Campbell had a good second half

Buddy is now 4th on the all time list...

                    Fox was also OK.

                    What is wrong with Heeney?

                    When does Mills return?

                    I miss Parker.

I don't have an issue with Wicks not doing a lot in the forward line tonight - as you say, the delivery was terrible.

But he can't be missing easy goals from 25 metres out dead in front playing as a small forward, especially when his around the ground kicking is average at best.

I like him, but I really don't think he is good enough. Would love to be proved wrong, but like Clarke, just a holding role in the team until we find someone better (either short term or long term). Same with Francis - who does a lot right, but then does some things really, really badly.

Rampe was not ready to play. Not his fault, we had few options.

While I thought we did better in the midfield than expected, we still missed Parker tonight.

Shocking execution and decision making, on every level. I'll give that to St Kilda in the first quarter - they were swarming us, so it's expected to an extent. But to not follow through after we had that brief spell in the second is near-unforgivable.

Fox, Oli and Chad a stand out. Same with Campbell, given his experience. Gulden good but some poor kicks. Heeney tried. Paps starting to regain a bit of form.

The umpiring was outright criminal. It started with the policing of the 15 metre rule (wholly against the Swans) from the opening bounce, then degenerated into a farce from there. Something needs to change, and fast.

EDIT: If there were ever a game to forensically analyse umpiring performance, this is it.
Captain, I am detecting large quantities of win in this sector

Stevoswan, i asked AB the same question... are you happy with longmire and where the team is at?

Its not longmire bashing of its actually the main issue we have

+1. Some are prolific posters this year. Hardly a dicky bird from them last year when we made GF.

Can’t see Clarke and Wicks in the team as they are just not up to scratch. Surely we can find better as we’re going nowhere with those 2- I’m sorry but we need more talent than those guys can deliver.
Clarke was supposed to be on Sinclair but he had 28. Milara had 26.?Who was in who?. Thry destroyed us
