Our pressure and the areas we isolated to defend and create turnovers appeared, at the game, first class.

It’s a real shame that some of key goal kickers this year are struggling beyond comprehension.

I realise last year was a break out year for Heeney but seriously that was so hard to watch given the effort by our Mids and HBF to rebound.

Oh well I’ll take a draw prior to the game starting tonight.

That shows that the ranking points system is BS.

The other feature of the night was that was the best overlap run I’ve seen since the last quarter against Richmond. We used dare and run to take it on. We got trapped a few times in the last quarter in the middle of the ground, but it’s better than the alternative.

Good games by Sheldrick, Parker, Blakey, McInerney, McDonald and Gulden. If I had a slight criticism of Gulden he made a couple of errant choices in the last quarter. Campbell was very good first half, but drifted a bit.

The morons on Fox are trying to argue Blakey should get a fine for acting in the tackle from Stewart. I have no problem with the tackle. It was strong and proper. But the idea Blakey acted in response is absurd.
Have another look at the replay. It was a massive dump tackle with a secondary push into the ground. He's gawn.

Loved all the overlap, dodging, weaving and the dare as well ….
            Just one less turnover …

Ranking points penalise FAs quite harshly. Rowbottom had 4 of them which no doubt contributed to his so called lowly ranking

I did. Blakey rushes at him, and with his forward momentum, the jolt of sudden contact and the awkward angle at which both players approach the tackle sees him tipped to the ground. I think it’s a footy incident, neither player has anything to account for and I say that as someone who thinks Tom Stewart is prone to a dog act or two.

I’m 100% for the crackdown and dealing with concussion, but I hope footy acts are still footy acts.

Very frustrating to kick ourselves out of winning the game.

Some exciting ball movement in the first half, but our awful accuracy wasted our dash. We could have been ahead by 3-4 goals early, but we kept them in the game all night and were lucky to scrape that draw.

                  Heeney, sheesh…

Logan was good. Almartey, learn to mark please.

Midfield was all good apart from Florent and Hickey.

Defence was ok, I thought they had too many inside 50 marks in the second half.

Oh well, as least we all get a point in the RWO tipping contest.

The team should spend the next week with some goalkicking practice, with the width of the goals reduced by 1 metre on each side and they keep going until they kick five each. Start with Hickey and Heeney.

A completely fitting result. Much the better team in open play, but too skittish in front of goal to win.

                      Still learning.

Gulden is an absolute champion. Another cracker from Sheldrick.

I love that five step nonchalant set shot rocket of Campbell's.

Just got home from the Swans v Cats comedy show. Funniest show of the Sydney comedy festival this year. Just needed a Benny Hill style soundtrack!

When I saw him on the ground after the game running around and having a kick, I couldn't recall whether he had actually been subbed on. It seems strange as he would have been fresh. But then I don't know who would have been subbed off.

Sure there were positives. How about understanding that most of us are gutted by that and there were plenty of bloody negatives. Missing open goals from 10m out isn’t easy for a lot of us to accept and a huge bloody negative.

Good point. I think either Melican or Francis would be stiff to be dropped. The backline seems to have cohesion now.

30 behinds and about 6 out on the full for both sides, versus a running time for Yackety Sax of 4 and a half minutes. 7.5 seconds per shot. That would make a dryly amusing video.
