Team List Rnd19 - vs Fremantle at Optus Stadium, 22 July at 5:40 PM local (7:40 PM AEST)

Woot - I get to see the boys live this week instead of on Kayo!

I thought McLean gave maximum effort all game but he was outplayed by English who had so much more reach and agility around the game and with Darcy/Jackson I think we will need a true ruck.

Although Darcy was injured on the weekend, Longmuir has said it was an innocuous injury and he will have a test (and likely play).

So Hickey might be back for us after a rest as Ladhams was rusty in the VFL according to ugg? Almartey to be managed again, to make way for Hickey, partly due to his injury history and also because he was ineffective last week.

We also have Rampe suspended. Melican out with another unfortunate injury.

Suspect Lloyd and Frances come in for them.

If Chad is ready, then he comes in for his brother.

Not sure how long Sheldrick is out for. Maybe Corey Warner is sub.

Personally I would like to see Stephens in the squad playing on Serong, and doing well, but his form in the VFL means we won’t see that happening

As for the talls, Franklin played well last week so he gets a farewell game in his home state.

    So…..

Ins: Hickey, Lloyd, Frances, Chad if ready

Outs: Almartey, Rampe, Melican, Corey Warner if Chad ready

Sub: Chad if Corey is back in team, otherwise Clarke again

Probably pretty close, except swap McLean for Amartey, who was our best tall forward last game.

I would like to see HHK get the sub role, even though he had an ordinary game in VFL. I just want to see how he goes at AFL level. I feel he could make a quicker adjustment than most debutantes. He's bee playing a Will Hayward type role in the VFl. It's easier to find water in the Nullarbor than see a markable ball in our VFL forward line. We really should move him to the wing or HB, where he's shown he can rack up 20+ possession.s

Will there be an open training session or captain’s run in Perth?

A fairly detailed article on our possible selections. Swans insist Rampe bump 'purely accidental', Buddy bound for trip west (afl.com.au).

You've cracked the code. Please tell us what the Will Hayward role looks like?

I thought Amartey played a good game against the Dogs.

It's what you see on the field, except he finds the open man and hits him laces out. And kicks the ball between the big sticks instead of targeting the cameraman.

Every one of our future games is an eight pointer. This is the game that has a big say in how far up the draft order we go.

WCE, Norf, hawks have 1,2,3 locked in. Lose to Freo and we'll be holding 4, albeit maybe only for a short time, beat Freo and they will be looking a lock for pick 4 although it's now held by the Dees.

Really don't know what to think of our chances here, we're very capable of winning well as Freo look in disarray at present, but it is in Perth. Hope Buddy can have a good game for his WA farewell.

                        Ok here goes:

                        Out: Rampe, Melican, Wicks
In: Francis, Lloyd, Chad if fit, otherwise Hickey.
                        Sub: Dyl

I know many won’t agree with dropping Wicks before Corey, as he was reasonably ok. However we need to play Corey as his ceiling is higher and I consider Wicks to be no more than VFL level- same with Clarke. Both are ok for depth but shouldn’t be regulars if we’re serious- neither would get into a top 4 side, so what are we trying to prove by selecting them?

There’s no way Horse will put the cue in the rack yet. So he’ll keep Wicks and drop one Warner for another.

I’m also quietly optimistic about Rampe.

The other big unknown is Darcy. If he gets up I don’t know how we’ll respond ruck-wise? Ladhams isn’t ready, Hickey seems past it.

                          My hope is (no Darcy)

                          Out: Warner, Melican
                          In: Warner, Lloyd
