Bias is one thing, but I do believe we can beat the Blues in Vic on Friday night. I think we have nothing to lose as I didn't expect us to even make the finals.

We need to throw everything at them and take away the crowd's voice. The VFL media might be dreaming of a Blues victory, but I love the underdog status of our team. We have been here before and know what it takes to win in finals footy. The Blues do not. I'm hoping they are so full of themselves they trip up.

We've been in hostile territory before. Bring it on. I'm expecting nothing less than a four quarter relentless effort. If we kick straight and win some centre clearances, than anything's possible.

I absolutely believe that if the match is fairly officiated that we can beat Carlton. I think at our best we could beat any team. However, I doubt whether we will get a fair deal. I, like you, did not expect to be here, so the extra week is a bonus. I'm very happy with what the team has done this year. But I also know that the AFL is the VFL at heart.

I hope it's a fair game and the best team wins...and that the Swans make a real four quarter effort.

More than anything, we will need to have our big boy pants on in the midfield and at the contest. Voss finally has the Blues playing the way he always played - absolutely unconditional at the contest, the ball and the man.

That’s not to say we can’t do it, and we did it in our first final against the Dees last year. If we even get close in that element of the game, we’re a red hot chance as I reckon we have them covered in other elements of the game, notably the spread of talent small and tall forward of the ball, and our run from defence and on the wings.
If Heeney is physical in the middle and pushes forward after getting the possession to create an extra it would be nice. Once heeney is forward after the first contact, mills to look after Cripps.
But we cannot be too Cripps centric. I think they will be ready for this. We need to shut down Sam Walsh and Adam Cerra in the middle, they’re better kickers.
I think Mcinerney and Gulden particularly need to put a lot of pressure on them if we can have a chance.

Actually, Walsh's disposal efficiency is not great. Cerra is a different story.

I agree that’s the right approach to Cripps.

This article reckons we also need to stop Nic Newman too. Really hope they don’t pick Clarke to do so and find someone else.

It also says for us to win Parker has to find form!

What a sad state our sport is in in the McLachlan era that this is a legitimate concern.

I quite like his suggestion of Fox on Curnow.

I hate to say it but it appears that your statement will be true. The Media in Melbourne are talking up Carlton as a certainty with little talk about St Kilda. Some really dodgy umpiring is coming our way.

For Newman, somebody could just say boo!

Beating Carlton will be like killing Bambi. We will get reprocussions

The Mongrel Punt reckons we can win but we’ll have to play out of our skins to do so … and Mills needs to play in the guts

The weather forecast for the match is about as wintry as it can get.

According to BoM via SEN: Cold weather, about 7 or 8 degrees, some rain, some hail possible.

Don't you love BOM. Not raining for entire game, less rain than the night before but expect some hail.

Here's hoping that the ball will be as slippery as a greased pig and Carlton's tall forwards will be starved of marking opportunities.
