Apart from the missed goals there were maybe 3-5 other forward opportunities that went begging due to poor kicking or positioning or decision making. We’re just that little bit behind across the board this year.

Well we lost....cue the Longmire bashers.

23 scoring shots to 19.....there's your game story, to suggest anything else woulsd be deluded. Proud of our boys....and sort of relieved in a way. They can take some confidence from really pushing Carlton in this final and have a full pre season and be fully fit for 23 games of 4 quarter football next season.

The bashers should be embarrassed. Umps didn't help us and we finished over the top of them. Lacked composure in last quarter and didn't kick straight enough. All young players better for the experience.

Not really, they missed plenty that should’ve been called. Clear throws, deliberate, htb - 3 crucial non-calls at least.

Inaccurate kicking as well, but they also missed some. Bugger! We so nearly killed the chokers.

Ugh, should have won that. But proud of the effort.

Gulden, McCartin, McLean, Lloyd were very good. Hickey did himself proud in the second half. Campbell stood up. Melican showed he deserves another contract.

But we wouldn't have won this year. So, on balance, perhaps good to get the extra rest and draft capital.

I have to admit we lost against a team that ain’t that good but did bring pressure better than I have seen the do for some time.

And we tagged all their midfield which I am trying to come to terms with ie is our midfield so inferior we need to have so many of our mids running with and or tagging?

It almost felt that if Gulden didn’t play we would have lost by 6 goals?
