Yes, I suspect that Maclure is one of those people, who think that being whacked in the head a number of times, never did them any harm. When in actual fact, it probably did.

Derm is a great commentator. Covering a game he totally focusses on players, strategy, personnel performance, little things about the game at hand. BT, Brayshaw and that dill Richardson have weirdo perspectives that can meander into the absurd...e.g. a stupid overview about players from Pelican in Tasmania during the call of a game.

I believe the first one was definitely touched, you can see the ball deviate.....but I don't agree with the second one with the reviewer stating "you can clearly see the ball was touched".....one certainly cannot see that the ball was touched from the blurry footage that was available. That one smacked of Vic bias and retribution for what happened against Adelaide. I can see why Horse was not happy.....but he did have a go mainly at the technology, not so much the actual decisions.

It certainly did him a lot of harm.

I also don’t think many of the Carlton supporters around me felt the game was under their control. The same could be said of their players who seemingly made mistakes due to the pressure of the situation.
The ones around me were stressing in the last quarter and had convinced themselves they were going to lose.

How many times can a boof head like McClure be recycled?

Longmire did say we were on the wrong side of the decisions, so it was not just technology he was referring to.

Pretty decent photo from the AFL photographer, Michael Wilson, going around showing Blake Acres touching the ball.

Not sure if it was the 1st or 2nd goal.

1st one from Campbell was definitely touched, as the deviation is quite clear.

Actually he didn’t say that. In fact he made a point of saying he didn’t know (whether goal review decisions were right) as he was coaching from the bench and didn’t have a good view of the replays.

I thought Campbell’s kick was a bit disappointing as he is a much longer kick than this was and it should have sailed through beyond anyone’s reach. However, easy for me to say????!
The 2 incidents maybe a bit of karma for the Adelaide decision?

I think that's a bit harsh. It was a beautiful, on-target kick from a distance and an angle. It took a terrific effort from Acres to get his finger tips to it.

One thing I imagine Campbell is working on is not boofing the ball all the time, but rather varying his kicks to suit the circumstances. If he'd tried to kick that one even a little harder it might not have been on target. Ditto for Gulden's kick.

He needs to be backed in to run and carry more, a few times he held up for Rampe/Parks who were running on.

Im all for honouring a lead but Rampe should be shepparding and letting Campbell carry the footy.

Fair enough Liz- the shot would have been great for most players, but Campbell is such a beautiful kick that I expected it to go further as it didn’t seem to be too far out- but I could be wrong! And yes, Acres did very well to just touch it: or so it seems!????
