I can't believe we are actually looking at replacing Pyke with Dew. Dew is old news. I thought we might actually upgrade not downgrade. Stewie was good when he was at the Swans but that whole coaching panel had gone stale by the time he left to coach the Suns. Blakey was far too close to Horse & there were not too many new ideas coming.

I think a return to the past is not such a good idea. After all, when he was sacked several players, who he would not play, flourished. The new game plan was far better and players were actually enjoying the game. I would rather a Mark McVeigh or Mark Stone, who have actually had success as coaches.

Not Mark Stone. He is a journey man who was a failed midfield coach with us. I'd rather have fresh blood with refreshingly new ideas and good people skills. I am not in the Dew camp.

Again, I would rather someone who is not long out of the game who has good people skills. Both Mark McVeigh and Rhys Shaw have had their chances.

For his magnificent 2005 season and kicking "that goal," I reckon he should have whatever job he wants on whatever pay he wants!

He was huge in that game. Not far off Norm Smith with his influence.

“Amon Buchanan is back in red and white”

QBE Sydney Swans Academy - Head Coach of the Under-14 South Academy Squad. Since February this year I think from this article.

Swans Premiership player Amon Buchanan is back in red and white as a QBE Sydney Swans Academy coach.

That article is from a decade or so ago.

He joined us at the start of 2022 as a development coach. I did a (very quick) search to try and find an article or even a thread on this forum that reports it but haven't found anything. And he's not listed in the coach section on the Swans website. But I know I saw his face sitting on the bench next to Longmire in much of the televised coverage this year. And his Linkedin page shows it's not something I've dreamt up.

I've found something - on our list management thread from last year. Post 2213 from I'mUninformed2, which links to an audio clip from Gardiner.

Lol, I misread 2013 as 2023. I was a bit puzzled by the wording of the article ….
