Its hard to see how this sharp outfit could really be improved. They are all in constant movement throughout the game except for a bit of junk time right at the end.

It may be a premature comment, but I've been waiting for that moment when it feels like that younger group of stars will burst out and just get 'it' as footy players. We look that bit stronger, we look that bit wiser, making better decisions with footy in hand, making tackles stick, breaking tackles. Campbell, Warner, Errol, Macca, Rowy, Blakey, McLean, McDonald - that sort of group are the boys I'm talking about.

There was a play in the second quarter in the lead up to Chad’s goal when he marked inside 50. It started on the half back flank and a batch of the players just exploded forward. Pure surge running you can’t do without four or five preseasons under the belt. It risked breaking down in the middle of the ground with a loose-ish handball and Campbell had someone close in on him. They didn’t quite nail the tackle, but two years ago he doesn’t have the strength to wriggle free regardless. He did and on the ball went. And two years ago Chad lacked the forward nous to take advantage of it.

But there's been a couple of really good palm offs, a couple of tackle breaks, strength in tackles where last season even our play would of broken down. Just those little moments that make you think 'ah its starting to click'.
Bring it on I say!"You get the feeling that like Monty Python's Black Knight, the Swans would regard amputation as merely a flesh wound."Comment

What a great win!!
Loved the pressure and some great team play. If they had kicked better for goals it would have been over even earlier!!
As others have said, there is strength in every area of the ground. This is a very deep team that has no glaring weaknesses.
Grundy was an absolute massive add to this lineup.
Well worth getting up at 5:30am to watch live!Comment

I only saw watched from part of the first quarter until early into the third. Looking forward to watching the replay.
Part way through the game, I was thinking wow, how we are doing this without Mills, Adams and Parker.
I can’t see three obvious players to drop for them all when they are fit and again.
Rowbottom had one of his greatest games, possibly his greatest. So good to see that.
So good to see Heeney fully fit in the midfield, Logan getting a lot of goals.
Some players were a bit below their best) (Hayward and Paps) but wow, such an enjoyable game (apart from some dreadful umpiring in the second quarter)!
2-0 is setting us up for a great seasonComment

Not long home from Melbourne.....wish I could say I was at the game but no, I was visiting my daughter for dinner but watched the game there. Very proud of the lads, a cracking game from all of them....kept the pressure on and backed it up with skill and good decision making in most instances.
Heeney an absolute gun again (another three Brownlow votes or maybe Chad or maybe even Daicos, so one or two at least...I proudly stand by my claim from last week that with a fully fit season, Isaac could romp it in for Charlie, so far so good), Warner excellent and Gulden warming to the task now. Rowbottom his usual tackling beast with 13 for the game. It was a happy drive home!

Such an enjoyable feeling, having the big win against the Pies, that I went to the BF forum to read the posts to see what others outside RWO were saying.
Interesting that there were so many neutrals commenting on us getting reamed by the umpires, gifting the pies 3-4 goals,
and heaps calling Pendlebury and Daicos brothers for ducking.
Also heaps calling out the biased commentary as well.Comment

dispatched! who cares how we did it, it was a solid win. lol after the focus is all about “pies this pies that” @@@@ the pies SYDNEY mufus ????Comment

Hard to change the team based on this performance.
The only question is if the returning three will make us slower. Whoever misses out will be mighty unluckyComment

If Heeney, Warner and Gulden maintain this level, and there's no reason to believe they won't, we'll be very hard to beat.
Also:
- shout out to Melican, who's getting the most out of himself;
- McCartin is an elite backman
- Roberts has already taken Lloyd's spot - another composed game
- Rowbottom: 13 tackles!Comment
