That was a really, really poor effort. I couldn't believe how poor our field kicking was. What it did show us was how vital Rampe is to us. Our backline seem to lack structure without him and Cunningham.
Mitchell is a way off it. Showed glimpses but a couple times completely lacked awareness and got beaten one on one too often.
Jordon had 18 possessions but didn't look strong in the clinches.
I'll get bagged for this, but Hayward was awful. He plays poorly at the G and was weak at the contest. He played bruise free footy. He hit his average career stats of 11 per game.
Grundy was very good. Had great second efforts and goes all day.
    We had many good players.
We lost the game due to our poor field kicking, over possessing and poor delivery going forward when clear.

great to beat pies and demons, a waste to let those grubs beat us
There wasn't a huge amount to choose from this week. Adams wasn't deemed ready to play a full game. Nor was Reid. Ladhams was far worse in the VFL today than Amartey was in the AFL (and I thought he was OK) but also gave away several undisciplined free kicks. He's done nothing to earn a spot. We had a no-gamer as our emergency on top of a debutant.

So while I don't believe today's game was remotely lost at selection, even if it had been a factor, the team out there was the team we had available.

Very disappointing effort but still 3-1. Not panicking just yet. Selection could get interesting the next few weeks though.
Richmond were pretty good. Got to give them credit. We were slightly off with pressure and with skills, and Richmond were able to blunt our run and spread.

C'est la vie. Move on to next week and hope some lessons learned and maybe some backsides kicked.

You would expect Mitchell and Corey will go out. I agree on Jordan. A bit soft perhaps.

An a grader in the 2s is all about health

If he is fit he should play
            No need to dominate 2s

Yeah totally agree. Added not a lot and that snap on goal was a disgrace for an AFL forward who is paid to kick goals.

Who is the A grader in the twos? If you’re referring to Adams I think he’ll come in next week. There were no other A graders in our VFL team today.

Next week will likely see Adams in and hopefully Cunningham too. Maybe Wicks will be available for selection. But chances are we will be without Rampe.

If you watched some of the VFL game today you probably would not be asking for Ladhams to replace anyone in the seniors. In the last quarter he missed two very gettable shots at goal with really silly kicks in the forward line and in defence gave away two free kicks that resulted in easy goals for Richmond! We lost by 12 points.

Ladhams is streets ahead of Amartey for team balance

                    Leaves mclean fwd

Amartey 40m out and doesnt register is embarrassing

                      My changes would be:

                      Hamling for Rampe (if injured)
                      Cunningham for Warner
                      Adams for Mitchell

                      Jordan to start as sub.

                        Its not a 100% translation
Leave someone in the 2s for long enough and they will play at that level

What got me was he kicked around the corner when was almost dead in front. I reckon the G is too big for his poor tank. His career average is 9.7 stats a game.

Seems like we were ahead of ourselves. Some pretty ordinary hand passes, ordinary control of the ball, and poor kicking from mid to f50. We were lucky to not have been absolutely spanked as we did ok in the d50 efforts.
Some absolutely silly kicking from d50 by Blakey that was really uncharacteristic. Mitchell got the ball and made efforts but geez he got found out today by battle hardened opposition players. And it proved we are far from the team to beat. It would be good if we can just iron out the middle. It was so easy to get the ball out of the middle at times. Brodie Grundy did work really hard all around the ground.

When he is right, Sheldrick must play.

Won't do some of our young blokes any harm. Good wake up call after great 3-0 start.
