Stupid comment. Yes they will win plenty of matches and make the finals. I just question if they have the mental toughness to go all the way. Maybe they will finish a respectful 3rd or 4th.

A first loss, in round #4 (or whatever it is) does seem a bit early to go librarian-poo.
And I think a lot of the negativity may be put down to the emotion of disappointed expectations, so I'm thinking the positivity you suggest will reassert itself very shortly.

Positivity can occasionally be as premature/presumptive as the opposite.
We think it's obviously needed, but it'd temp fate less to say "obviously the team NEEDS TO have a good look at themselves and learn from yesterday's game" rather than just assume assume they will.
We aren't party to what's going on behind closed doors. How much did the Wicks thing (whatever it was) affect the team. Funny things happen in organisations. Even ones as beloved as the Swans.

Interesting human insight into how critical we can be when the Swans don’t do well.

I’m going to put my hand up and say that I played amateur football and the Swans players are all 10 times better than I ever was. I once played one on one against a former Swans rookie listed player and he destroyed me.

Bottom line. If you’ve never been as good as a Swans player stop the criticism. If you have been as good as then you can have a say.

Much like this one..."Obviously that was just a pipe dream based on that effort."

Name one GF winner that has had a perfect season.

I trained with Carlton U19's for a week (only because I lived in their zone - Bendigo) but then I got injured and that was the end of that. Does that count?

I see Tom Lynch and Noah Balta are out for a while now after getting injured yesterday... could've happened last week and we might be a little happier today... haha

Imagine if the Eagles got the better of us this week - does anyone know why Hamiling did play in the 2s

I think that expectation and demand for results is a good thing for our club. No longer are we satisfied with waiting 72 years for a premiership again.

I thought exactly the same thing when I heard the news.

Yep Lynch gave McCartin a bath

I’m not sure Tom is really in the top echelon of key defenders

Coaches will have plenty of lowlights to show and work through with the players. Might just be the loss we needed to have to re-focus on the hard work needed every week.

Does under three quarters in the two's prepare you for a full game of seniors? I wouldn't have thought so, doubt we see Adams this week. Forecast for next weeks game, 24 and sunny, looking forward to it.

I think the summary is the same every week for 2024

We dont have Steven May and or Jake Lever saving our bacon when the mids and our forwards dont put enough pressure on the footy

Every team knows that re the Swans

We have a serviceable backline.......yes.................but we are a team that has stacked mids and forwards over AFL elite backline players.

So for me that means our backline is still the area that the opposition doubles up on every week.
"be tough, only when it gets tough"

He sometimes has really bad games. Yesterday it felt like everything he did cost us. Couldn't believe that backwards over the head handpass that went over the boundary for deliberate!

Our next M.C.G. game is in round 7 against Hawthorn. It will be interesting to see if we struggle on the big ground again in another game we should win.
