Is it wrong that I felt sorry for Hawthorn? I would HATE for that to happen to us. When I turned it over to the game and there was around 30 seconds to go, I said there is no way Port can kick 2 goals. Boy was I wrong!

Hawthorn and their fans must be gutted, but to be honest the Hawks choked. One behind was all they scored, and had Port kicked straight the Hawks would have lost by four or five goals. Defending a lead isn't enough. They should have been trying to extend it.

Meanwhile, the Eagles are up by about two goals.

Thoroughly enjoying the Eagles/ Demons match. Harley Reid is something else.

There's been a few answers offered Mel. FWIW, I've moved on....that's my main take on this unchangeable matter.

On the match still in progress.....go Eagles.

West Coast beating Melbourne might have further soured the mood of Hawthorn fans. I mean, who would have thought that kicking the occasional goal would help you hang on to a lead?

The ladder is very unusual after this round. 13 teams have a percentage over 100, and only five are below 100. I cannot recall the last time I saw such a lopsided split.

Another oddity - the team with the second-best percentage is 11th on the ladder (Western Bulldogs).

The logjam of teams on 6 wins is another interesting feature. The ladder looks like this:

              ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? 36
              ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ? 30
              ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? 28
              ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? 28
              ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ? 26
              ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? 24
              ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? 24
              ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? 24
              ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? 24
              ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? 24
              ?? ?? ?? ?? ?? 20
              ?? ?? ?? ?? ? 18
              ?? ?? ?? ? 14
              ?? ?? ?? 12
              ?? ?? ?? 12
              ?? ?? ?? 12
              ?? 4
              0

The clustering around 6 wins is clear here.

Very enjoyable watch the West Coast, love seeing contenders getting beaten. Harley Reid is very special, and he's from Tongala in the North of Victoria.

It is the first time that 13 teams have been 100+ according to stats guru Swamp:

2024 R10 is the first time that the V/AFL ladder has had 13 teams with a percentage of 100+

                      More fun facts from Swamp:
                      * North Melbourne is the only team that has not won a game this year.
