So glad we have worked our way back into it, Amerty really got some confidence into his game - let’s hope we can bring the heat for the 2nd half

Outstanding pressure from the Crows, made some our disposals look pretty slow really .
Amartey has rescued the situation bigtime, great credit to him.

Downfield? Is that a rugby term. Relayed free means where the ball landed - I.e downfield if you like.

It’s a standard term in the AFL for example

Adelaide players targeting Heeney. Umpires letting them do it. In that first quarter the Adelaide player corkscrewed Heeney in the tackle then deliberately imho slammed his knee/thigh in Heeney’s chin. Incredulously free paid against Heeney !

I think our forwards were a bit down last week and we relied on our mids to kick the goals, same this week, but the mids are being well held. Mills had a bit of a cuddle and chat with Chad at half time ( watching Kayo) perhaps to calm him down a bit?

The long kick to mark game doesn't work for us, when the opposition is a strong marking side they will often outmark us. Our strength seems to be chaos ball and running play.

Let's see what happens now- we can't just rely on Joel for goals..

That turned so incredibly fast. Swans are such a pleasure to watch and must be a nightmare to play against.

Wasn’t that what the three peat Lions said? Teams could go with them but not for 4 quarters. Paps said something similar after the Essendon game.

That demonstrates Amartey’s value to the team. Gives us an avenue to goal when we are forced to kick long to a pack.

What a wild game of footy that was. Another slow start (however as Horse said - it was more a case they took their early chances in front of the sticks, while our forward entries were awful), but eventually we kicked into gear - and won by just a lazy 7 goals.

So happy to see Amartey to kick a big bag. His reading of the ball in flight continues to improve significantly, as does his contested marking. His kicking for goal from set shots seems to be coming along nicely - really finally starting to 'click' and I think he believes that he belongs at this level.

The scary part for other teams is that I think everyone knows, deep down, we haven't yet put together complete 4 quarter performances. Some poor team is going to get utterly blown to smithereens when we turn up and really hit the 'go' button from the first minute.

Whatever happens this season - we are being treated to a wonderful footy side to watch. All I hope is that we can turn the dominance we've shown so far into the one result, if we can carry it through most of the season, that is needed to put the exclamation mark on it.

A long way to go - but we are 3 games clear of the pack. Just let that sink in for a moment - 3 games!

I guess the good news is we’ve largely played like trash, some of our other talls like Logan and McCartin have had total stinkers, Chad looks more interested in picking fights and sledging, our halfbacks have been quiet, our mids aren’t defending at stoppages . . . and we’re still less than a kick off it.
We are generally not a bad marking side, but apart from Amartey no one could take a mark including Logan, McCartin, Mclean, Heeney etc. Grundy was sensational again ! What a pick up he has been. I am a bit worried about Mclean's form, maybe Ladhams is worth a try?

What a time for the site to go down!

How great was the Amartey Party? I'm so happy for him. Everyone was willing him to get 10! I think we all knew he had the talent, he just had to build his fitness base so that he could execute.

Speaking of fitness, credit to our fitness staff for allowing us to run out games so strongly. How many times last year were we overrun by sides in the last quarter? This year we're just able to extend the lead.

Was the site down for large parts of the second half? I was at a concert and couldn’t check the scores/site and there doesn’t seem to be much activity for a great comeback and 9 goals by Amartey!

                            What a great result!

Great response when our Mids were having it all their own way

                              Amartey amazing
                              Grundy Amazing
Heeney probably just pips Gulden who's kicking ironically let him doen a bit

Jmac always gets better the longer the game goes
                              JJ good again
                              Blakeys spoils were great
Will and Ligans bail out runs were good
Ramps did some very good things, plays to advantage and it doesnt register on stats sheets

Reckon it's time to give Ladhams a go for Mclean.
Not all his fault as he is getting thrown around a bit but does not offer alot as a 2nd ruck

*mids werent having it all their own way

I'd edit the previous post but it would probably crash the site

If you factor in percentage, it is essentially 4 games clear. It is absolutely incredible.
