James Hird death threats.

James Hird got 5 abusive/acusive (dunno which word) phone calls and in the newspaper it said that they were made before the First Test Match last week. They were made to his Hotel room which was said to be the most "prestigious hostel".

James said the calls had no affect on his Gaelic footy performancs and it never ran through his mind. GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) I think contacted the Hotel for them to make a record of the phone calls and trace the death threat callers. The Hotel was asked to get more security with the phone lines.

They were probably from his wife telling him not to be a naughty boy, or else!!!

I reckon it's the Irish mafia....they heard how Hirdy's a bit free with the moolah when it comes to offering umps an incentive to reward the hard-done-by bummers in the free-kick department, so they figured they'd get in on the act...Surely, goldilocks could afford a slab or two of Guinness to keep his pretty-boy looks intact...
As for the threat never running through his mind...well, I find that very plausible, as I doubt that much goes through his mind, except, of course, churning over and over what colour rinse to have, next time he visits the barber...

While nothing with the Irish would surprise me anymore, I would say that this is nothing but a prank call gone way overboard. Unless the calls were made to the local police and in IRA code (which they clearly weren't), then Jimmy has nothing to worry about.

Still better safe than sorry and this has been handled well by both the GAA and the local police.
