    I've posted previously that I think its time for Sheedy to go. 23 years is long enough. And he's missed his chance to go back to Richmond in the near future.
    Occupational hazards:

      If Sheedy IS past it, then I hope Essendon keep him for many more years.

      I don't think he's past it, though. He's been written off time and time again, and keeps proving people wrong time and time again.

        Sheeds is a good coach. He can be imaginative on match day and has a talent for keeping the opposition guessing.

        My only reservation is that he would need to be replaced soon, not because he is stale, but because he is nearing retirement age. Sheeds can't coach forever; it's hard to motivate players when you're in a casket. Essendon should already be grooming a successor.

        To coach any club at the highest level is a great achievement. To coach the same club for 25 seasons is something only two coaches have ever done at the highest level. When Sheeds calls it a day, I hope it is on his terms.
