Favourite umpires

We've all got umpires that we hate, but now's the time to think about our favourite umpires.

Here's mine.

* Peter Cameron - A great umpire. He wasn't afraid to sledge the players during a game, and he would often tell players if they were "hot".

* Peter Carey - for THAT mark.

* The goal umpire with the luxuriant moustache that gave us the winning point in the 1996 preliminary final.

Just think if it had been Goldspink umpiring that prelim final he would have tried to make out that the ball was touched off the boot!

(Or does his hatred of the Swans not go back that far?)

Whoops - my bad. My point was that Goldspink with his hatred of the Swans would have found a way to take it off us somehow - guess I was being too clever for my own good!

Btw Goldspink actually DID umpire in the 1996 preliminary final!
