    AFLW Round 9: Brisbane. Sunday 27 October 2024 5:05 PM - Ipswich

Sorry all, bit late - I had a funeral to attend interstate

Speaking of travelling, our penultimate game is in Ipswich (a bit of a hike from Brissie for those that haven't been there)

Laura Gardner returns along with Julie O'Sullivan and Bella Smith (a last minute dropping due to the rain)
Bullas & Szigeti dropped, Young Holly Cooper rested.

For the Lions, Dakota Davidson is out, but Smith remains a huge threat as she probably won't need to relief riuck. Tarrant or Mitchell?

With only two games left, you'd have to assume some players would realy want to impress in order to hold their place in the squad for next season.

A nice surprise that Gardiner is back, as I had it in my head that she was out for the season. And Davidson is a significant loss for Brisbane. Although, it's still hard to see us beating the traditionally very strong Brisbane side. But hey, stranger things have happened.

A bit disappointing to be a goal behind at the first break, when we were probably the marginally better side. Pressure and tackling have been good.

Still competing pretty well, but Brisbane's ability to move the ball more cohesively has seen them skip away. Our forward fifty entries have been frustrating, with the ball often going nowhere near the intended target.

Hurley continues to look like a future star and Tarrant has been very solid in defence.

Another goal would be handy. We seem to have totally lost the ability to move the ball from end to end.
