    AFLW Round 10 vs Melbourne

Just some quick notes on team selection for the game against Melbourne at Casey Fields this Saturday.

Molloy will miss the game this week due to back soreness. Davies will replace Molloy in the team.

Melbourne have made three changes. Heath, Lampard and Taylor have been added to the team, replacing Gall (injured), Colvin and Taylor (both omitted).

It's going to be tough without Molloy and Hurley who I both rate as in our top 5. I'd like another performance like the Carlton or Adelaide matches, just hope there isn't too much home town umpiring.
Almost forgot about Giselle Davies, I previously haven't been hugely impressed by her, but hopefully she can keep their rebounding talls busy defensively.

Excellent contest so far. Both sides hard at the contest and fast on the outside - very entertaining. They have the advantage of height right across the ground, we will have to be much smarter delivering the ball into the F50 as they are just picking us off. The usual suspects are driving us, but also impressed by Cooper's quarter, which is something I probably haven't said before.

Melbourne pulled away in that quarter, we battled hard but could only kick two behinds from decent chances, they were much more efficient in front of goal. They really got their slingshot going, we struggled to control that once we lost the stoppage. Hope Morphett lifts, their dual rucks are definitely ahead.

Melbourne looking more and more dominant. They have 40 inside50 to our 20, and they are deadeye with their set shots. Their control of stoppages has continued, which means our defence has been under siege. Tarrant has been outmatched by the much larger Zanker, would have swapped with Mitchell myself.

Disappointing in the end. I wasn't expecting a win, especially without Nurley or Molloy, but was hoping for a closer result. We weren't humiliated, but Melbourne were just stronger all over the field. At least our effort didn't drop but few Swans put in a decent performance, which makes the 3-2-1 a bit of a lottery.
3 votes - Fish. Not at her most creative, but a strong defensive effort.
            2 - Van Loon.
1 - Gardiner. Thought about Ham or Pullar, but Laura's stats were hard to ignore, even if she wasn't prominent by eye.

Also - it had absolutely no bearing on the result, but the umps were very inconsistent.

I wasn't expecting a win today, but scoring no goals after quarter time was disappointing.

At this stage the season is really shaping as deciding who will lose to North Melbourne in the Grand Final. On form, at this stage that's likely to be Melbourne.

Currently North Melbourne are leading the Crows 5 goals 8 to 1 behind at half time.
