Yeah, that is what worries me he has had a couple of good games, he won a game off his own boot against us a few years back. But that is all he has had, a few good games. I wouldn't be too impressed getting him.

Have to put in a word here.

Richards is GOOD. Have you guys actually watched him play? He (IMO) has been toyed with by Sheedy who has messed with his confidence too much, up down, forward, back, bench...tried him as Key fullback when 85kg and 19, etc, etc.

He has real GO. Great 1 percenters etc and would really fit the Sydney style. Plus he actually has real skills. Frankly there is no way you could be confident that whoever we pick up with number 19 will be a better player than Richards should be with Roosey at his side.

Has anyone seen the photo in the paper recently? He has actually bulked up and looks (in build) like a taller McPhee rather than the J. Rivers he was.

Definitely better than Powell in all probability.

One of those players who had a very early chance and really looked the goods (I was there...Anzac game a few years ago) and I remember thinking "how the bloody hell does Sheedy pull these fantastic young players out of his arse just when you think they should be down because of injuries?"

Remember Kirk's first game? And O'Keefe's early blinder? And Fixter?

It was like that...and as we all know those three players did not set the world on fire for the next three years....but we were all thinking "I KNOW he can play....just give him time and opportunity!"

Same with Richards. He is a real chance to be a quality player....a much better chance than pick 19 would be. That's all that really matters.

He's not going to be Wayne Carey, and pick 19 might be - but we have to play the odds as best we can.

He is NOT, I repeat NOT like Mark Bolton or Ray Hall or those type of players who do the occasional really good thing upon which a club tries to build trade talk.

IMO his best game this year is an indication of what should become normal in the right environment.

He's not a ********head either...you can see it.

and we all know how he's turned out
Bolton was emergency in two Lions Premiership teams FFS. I was rapt when we got him. Compare him to Richards is in and out of a team that is struggling. Poles apart.

And I agree with Reggi - let's not trade at all with them. They are quite simply scum. We could do a Spriggs and pick him up with our third. Or, offer a 4th rder. We could trade away our 1st rder and a player as bait for Spider which I'd accept given our current list, and draft some youth with our second (Moore last year).

We're the freakin premiers. We should be calling the shots here.

          Bandy is appalling!!!!!!!!!

Was given about 10 goes this year and was shocking. Terrible ruckman, can't get into the game in the forward line. Possibly THE worst performer on the bulldogs list this year.

Absolutely not possible Roos would look at this hack.

Saddo is 5 times the player that Bandy is.

If the dogs want Saddo we'll have Hahn or Minson or Hargrave, thanks.

Saddo's not even getting a game though!?!

I agree with you. Bandy is terrible. Even without Darcy for much of the year, he didn't get a real go - even when he did play he was useless.

But you're fooling yourself if you think we'll get one of those three for Saddo (and I'd take any one of those three for Saddo, too). They are all part of the Dogs required players and it would take an O'Keeffe or similar for them to come around.

Your comment on Fosdike is interesting.

Hadn't thought of that, but it is true that his best games are at the G or Subi. Mmmmmm

3 Brownlow votes to deny Goodesy outright at the G in 2003 for example.

26 possessions off the bench the other day. Mmmm

He's listed as a forward, not a ruckman - Why would we be looking at a forward ?

You're lucky I'm a kind, reasonable man, otherwise you'd cop an automatic 4 weeks in the RWO pillory (currently under construction in a secret military base somewhere...) for that travesty...

I don't think it is a matter of us looking at or being interested in Bandy. But more likely, it is an early indicator of what the Bulldogs think Saddo is worth...maybe it is just their opening bid. Who knows what will develop between now and Friday.
                      oh well, maybe next time......

These comments from Sheedy should give enough warning - the wily fox will be after more than a 2nd round pick.

Bombers coach Kevin Sheedy was confident the club would do well out of trading Richards. "There's been a lot of interest in Ted Richards, so we'll go back and add all that up. We'll get a fairly good deal out of it," he said.source

Yep, typical draft period. You start it dreaming of Kosi, Bartels or even Spida. You end it have to do a deal with Sheedy for Ted Richards.

                            Oh dear.

that sure is the truth. if every player who had been mentioned as coming to sydney in the last few years had actually come we'd have ottens, spida, crawford, ackermanis...the list goes on

still, we seem to have done ok without them, haven't we?

At all costs stay away from Evildon during trade time. That Sheedy will deal you four aces and beat you with five. Also be careful of beat up stories about any bloke over 190 cm. The scribblers will have them all talking to Sydney.
