If we trade RO'K I will be very annoyed.

Trying to find out off one of my friends who is a Hawks supporter if she's heard anything, though highly unlikely. I know they're definitely going for the youth policy so they're definitely looking for draft picks.

I'd honestly prefer they'd went with the long-term option in Richards so we'd have another young ruckman to go in tandem with Jolly.

Unless O'Keefe has indicated he wants out and is prepared to go to the PSD, it simply makes no sense to offer him as a trade.

If we trade him and Micky goes down with a hammy in round 1 next season, then all of a sudden our forward line looks extremely thin.

I would like to see Spida, but not at the expense of ROK. I think ROK is far more important to the Swans in the longer Term.

obviously repeating other posters, but needs to be said. Spida would be great, but not at the expense of losing ROK.

Surely we can get out of it without paying such a high price! Saddo, Powell, plus all our draft picks.

What about a couple of the other youngsters thrown in - Moore, Grundy, McVeigh even Vogels (although I think he was good value in 05 and unlucky not to play the GF)

I will be distraught if any of the GF 22 (apart from retiree Ball!) are not on our list next year.

If Hawthorn trade Spida they can just about guarantee another priority pick next year (which may be the overall objective).

That would be 3 years in a row for PPs - not even St Kilda stooped to those levels.

What you suggest is too much if you think of the long-term and also consider Spida's age.

I think Moore has the potential to be a gun. No way he'll be traded at this stage of his career.

perhaps over-reacting to the idea of losing ROK.

not sure about Moore being a future gun, however.

the kid needs to loose a heap of weight to start with, surely, and then we'll see

do you really think he showed enough this year?

Also the fact that first year draftees cannot be traded.

We only have 22 living Premiership players - dunno if we can afford to trade many.

What can a 31 yo Ruckman be worth. Saddington would more than suffice.

Would be a shame to lose Powell as well.

Gee this is an interesting turn of events

They can unless the rules have changed since 02. I.e Barry Brooks.

They said the same about Greg Williams.

Moore has great skills for a first year player and I'm sure he'll get quite fit with another pre-season under his belt.

McVeigh is probably more expendable and would get more in a trade.

Maybe McVeigh to Essendon for their 1st round pick and then on-traded to Hawthorn for Everitt, or McVeigh to Essendon for a direct swap for Richards?

Spida would be fine, but not for ROK. Saddo plus a draft spot is more like it.
How far away are Ericksen and Shaw?
With Doyle back, Goodes to do some rucking around the ground, Baz to fill in occasionally around the goal square and a youngster learning the trade, do we have enough to get by?
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)
