My bad if so - thought it was the Bombers he played with in a GF.

Whats all the stress about not getting a 'star' player with any of our picks? Have we as loyal supporters not been continually worried about the lack of 'talent' in our backline, or our midfield or even our foward line (with so many of the talented ones taking sabbaticals from time to time)??

And have we not been shown time and time again that it matters none whatsoever? Have we not won a premiership with a team widely assessed as one with little talent to go around?

Come on all. Chin up. I have faith in this current administration to get these things right. They are yet to fail me in the three and a half years they have led this club. Nows not the time to get cold feet

I think the Spida deal would be well and truely killed off now since we gave away pick 19. The only way i can see it being alive again is if we lose *gulp O'Keefe and another premiership player. Cant see this happening and don't want to see it happen.

great pickup for the club, can fill a number of roles for us and he's still young

pick 19 - who cares anyway, we have enough youth as it is

i'm more than happy with this deal

So true. We seem to be judging players according to how other clubs see them. Sheedy coached a team to fourth last or something this season whilst Roos coached a team that won a flag - therefore we trust Sheedy's opinion of Richards?

IMHO Richards has looked like a pretty decent player when I've seen him play and could be a part of our side for 10 years. Can anyone say with the same level of confidence that a tall picked at 19 in this draft could achieve the same?

so just wondering. What draft picks do we have left? Is it true we need to take three picks from the draft. If we only have one pick left what is the situation?

I read on Big Footy that Super Ted only signed for a one year contract. Is this true?

For him to be laughing about this, he will have to score a quality player that fulfills some current deficiency on the bombers list who can possibly play AFL senior football for another 7-10 years.

The bombers had enough key defensive players. We didnt. So he can go laugh and so can Roosy.

For what it's worth, from an Essendon supporter's point of view, the deal seems fair.

Richards, as mentioned, struggled to get a game partly because he was vying for a spot (rebounding HB) for which we had a surplus of players.

One thing I'd say is that I wouldn't have too higher hopes of using him as a KP defender - he's not shown much in terms of holding key forward down.

His ideal spot is a third tall rebounding defender.

I think Essendon did quite well to get a 1st round pick, but Richards isn't a dud, he just didn't have a spot in out best 22.

Make of that what you will,

I think he could too. How many players have we picked up who havent done much at other clubs, but have stood tall at the Swans?
