He hasn't been traded yet but that was possibly what was being suggested. I think that the Roos are now offering two lowish 1st round picks for Hay and a 2nd round pick. Apparently they wanted "at least" Freo's first pick for him - no. 10 (according to afl.com.au).Originally posted by NMWBloods
Is that what Hay went for? That's laughable.Comment

Saddo linked with Dogs and Blues, but we may have to pay part of his salary.Comment

Going by that article we will only get a 3rd round draft pick plus we will have to pay part of Saddo's salary. Bugger!I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline

The good oil from News Ltd (the gospel for the homeless) appears to be thinking along these lines too. Dogs wanted Super Ted and have now turned their attention to Saddo.Originally posted by TheHood
Reckon it would be worth while Rocket looking at Saddo given he's probably the tallish utility type they need down at the Junk Yard.
Plus, I am still convinced he's the only player that actually improved steadily under Rocket's tuition. The Pain of Discipline is Nothing Like The Pain of DisappointmentComment

I think it's worth subsidising his salary in order to get into the draft before 55. I still think it's amazing that Sheeds was able to swap 51 for 55 given that they weren't expecting anyone to pay a 1st round pick for Richards.LIFE GOES ONComment

How many years to run on his contract??
A 2nd round pick isn't out of the question yet. There is a lot that will happen today and Saddo could end up as part of another deal.
Some Carlton bloke on BigFooty was talking about a 4th round pick for Saddo. Surely he's worth more than that! We will be well and truly duped if that's all we get for him, plus having to pay part of his salary."As everyone knows our style of football is defensive and unattractive, and as such I have completely forgotten how to mark or kick over the years" - Brett Kirk

He was hoping to use 51 in a F/S. However, he has stuffed up big time as the AFL said that they have to use pick 39.Originally posted by Snowy

Pick 52 is the first 4th-round pick, but it is still a joke.Originally posted by Bas
If we can't get a 2nd Rd pick for him then he should stay on.
A 4th round pick from Carlton is a joke.
For Saddo, I think a second-round and third-round pick should be considered. There are two clubs interested in him and that would bump his price up a bit. If we can get a first-rounder we would have done well."Unbelievable!" -- Nick Davis leaves his mark on the 2005 semi finalComment
