    Hack of the week

Been a while since the Grand final and I am now ready to move on with life. Specifically, I am ready to start bagging the crap out of selected players who don't meet my exacting standards. Overall, the level of positive vibes on this site has reached vomitous proportions and it is time to do something about it (Footyhead, where are you?)

Let's start with a player who is a new member of the premiership team (oh, life is sweet).

    Paul Chambers, come on down...

    Check out these stats

    Hack file

This guy has been playing AFL footy for 4 years and his highest possession tally is 9! Not only that, Geelong fans call him unco. Second round draft pick material????????????????

He averages 5.0 disposals a game and in his four years at Geelong, having been elevated from the Rookie list, he has played the grand total of 32 games out of a possible 88 or only 36%. He has kicked the ball 52 times in his four year career (average 13 kicks a year) and pulled down a whopping 32 marks (8 per year). Go get 'em tiger!

Question - would have Geelong delisted him if they didn't trade him to us!

Welcome Paul - Legs Akimbo's hack of the week.

PS - Paul, if you read this, welcome to R&W online. I am sure you are a lovely bloke and please don't take any offense from the above. Other former hacks such as LRT and Ben Matthews will tell you that R&W online is a wonderful source of motivation to get better. Best thing to do is get better so you can pass the Hack of the Week award to someone else.

He had observed that people who did lie were, on the whole, more resourceful and ambitious and successful than people who did not lie.

I must admit though, that Doyle would make a pretty good FF. Stick the likes of Hall, MOL, ROK and Davis around him, and his 2 goals per game from the goal square would be quite handy.

It's the hitouts per game that is important...after all he is a ruckman!!!

Legs akimbo, you can make stats say anything and for a ruckman a low possession count is not unusual...be caereful these threads seem to have a tendency to come back to haunt people

Yeah except that LRT outpoints him in most areas

I share your concern that Paul Chambers will be haunted by this thread.

That's a very high hitout rate for a relatively short and inexperienced ruckman. I'm intrigued, perhaps I shall focus on the kid during the preseason. Can we assuming that these statistics are reliable 'Cow?

The stats are flawed because they dont indicate the amount of time he spent on the field. And 12 hitouts aint bad for a 2nd or 3rd string ruckman.
