    Brent Guerra delisted

Guerra will be playing AFL footy next year, and is probably the best delisted player thus far. 23yo midfielder/forwards with almost 100 games experience (including frequent finals appearances), and who can kick more than a goal a game are rare in the national draft.

If he's still there at 52, I imagine Roos and his team will look very closely at him.

No, I'm not. My approach to this draft is that we have two (maybe, if we're lucky, three) years in which to win more flags. A 23 year old pinch hitter with 96 games to his credit is going to be more value in that period than any raw 18yo we get at pick 52.

Guerra would be reasonably cheap (not that salary is a problem), he has experience and a bit of talent, he's easily the best option amongst the delisted players, and he'll give us some depth. I'm not suggesting that he'd be in our best 22, but he would be a very handy fringe player.

He won't last to 52, but even if he does we already have a fairly talented bunch around his age that he'd have to jump past. A case of think about it rather than yes.
He reminds him of the guys, close-set, slow, and never rattled, who were play-makers on the team. (John Updike, seeing Josh Kennedy in a crystal ball)

I'm with Charlie on this one. He would be a very handy pick up if he lasted till 52. However, the main reason why he did leave Port was to go back home to Victoria, so we will have to take that into account.

If i was him however, i would certainly want to play for a champion team even if i had to move interstate.

After his performance in the prelim this year, I'd be very wary of going anywhere near him. I don't think he's the type of player we need, and he certainly won't bring us any closer to winning a premiership.

He would fail the "no d........" policy miserably. Apparently he is lazy, doesn't train well and likes a drink or two.

So why on earth did St Kilda delist him? He'd have fit right in.

Don't like him at all. Doesn't mean i don't think he can play at all, but I really don't like him. Tries to be a Pickett style enforcer and looks a fool for it.

I think that that is probably a fair assessment.

For someone who will play AFL next season, I doubt very much if he will still be about at 52. If he is I would imagine that there is something else going on. Basically I think he could make a contribution in the ACTFL but if he is still there at 52, we will pass him up too.

Barry Hall is not a meathead & with the picks the Swans have, he should be given a chance (as should Wowodin-I'm sure I've spelt it wrong) if he is available.
2005 will live forever (or until we win another premiership)
