Barry Hall has off season operation

Just heard on the news that Barry Hall has had corrective eye surgery during the off season. He claims that at times last year there were times when he couldn't see the ball. Not bad to kick 80 goals for the year then.

Does anyone know any more details than what I have heard on the news?

I am now waiting for the news of the same Op to be done on McLaren and Goldspink.

i think our stocks just rose considerably for 2006. can i bet on the coleman now?

i remember reading somewhere that the saints had his eyes checked when he was younger but didn't find anything.
then again, i think it would be worth trying 15-16 players on field so what would i know

Tim Watson talked about having his eyes fixed when he was coaching as Hall often struggled to see the ball. Hopefully this means his overhead marking will improve.

Reading the article, I see this and it all makes perfect sense:

"I could just see the other guys congregating around the ball. The worst though was trying to judge a mark, it would come on to me a lot quicker than I expected.

"I'd be snatching at the ball instead of setting myself for the mark.

And that's exactly how it looked many times.

Looking forward to see him play next year now!

Clearly explains the incident in the PF obviously didn't see Matt Mcguire there!

Also seems to explain why he is a far better day time than night time footballer.

I like the quote from the doctor: "I said to him: 'How did you catch that ball? Next season you're going to play so much better because you will actually see the ball'."

                      Brilliant!

He obviously just used to "feel the force" Jedi-style.

Sean Dempster is going to the same eye specialist as well

                          to have a similar operation

Sauce in the eye could present a bit of a problem with sight...
