This is a bloody frustrating quarter. We should've blown WCE off the park. Compare 2.5 and several OOTF/bad attempts at goal with an almost flawless 7.0 to nothing display agst the flag favourites, backing up after two really tough finals, was imho a better quarter of football.

For me the 4th quarter of the Geelong Semi final - I never tire of it.

We were in the pocket area of the ground so we couldnt tell that the goal had gone through until we saw the cheer squad go nuts (as we were basically side on to the goals)

But that was the defining moment for me - Davis did the impossible - with some help from Jason Ball. They lived to fight another day and they knew that whilst St Kilda wouldn't be easy (but geez didnt they make it look that way in the final quarter!) They now had the confidence and belief in themselves to have a red hot go. Anything from that point onwards was possible.

Even though the Saints thought all they had to do was turn up and they had it in the bag, they underestimated the Swans. I think that so many sides underestimated them. Sure the footy isnt pretty, but it got the results.
I used to be indecisive, but now I'm not so sure..................

I agree with all of the quarters listed here, but then there were so many others I enjoyed too:

First and second quarters against Brisbane at Telstra, as well as the same the following week against the Roos at the SCG.

The last quarters against Essendon and Carlton, when we were suddenly looking like we'd lose against an inferior opposition, only to put the foot down.

The last quarter against the Doggies, when Vogels stood up for his moment in the sun.

But for pure emotion, the SF was supreme. And even better because it brings back the emotions I felt when I was there. The PF was spectacular mostly because of how we shut down one of the most overrated sides ever

A few people mentioned the 2nd quarter against the Cats in Round 15.

                Forgot about that one!

                The Swans were ON FIRE!!!!!
Well done Craig Bolton for getting the co- captaincy in 2008.

A pre-cursor to what was to come. I actually scored a box seat with Australian Air Express that game, and a work colleague of mine (a WCE supporter no less!!!) not only didn't rate us for that game but scoffed when I predicted before the game that not only would we win that game, but... wait for it... I reckoned it would be a Swans V Eagles Grand Final.

Well after he had recovered from his bout of hysterical laughter, and questioned my sanity about eight times, he stated that he would LOVE to face us in the GF. There was simply no better team in the eight at the time to face off in the GF against.

His laughter was loudest after the first quarter in that match. And was deafeningly silent by the end of the second.

The rest is history. Cheers Phil

I was asked by some employees of a major insurer if they could borrow my Swans scarves to wear in a meeting with one of their big wigs - who happened to be a west coast supporter.

From all accounts they sat up there in the meeting wearing the scarves and this WC blokes was close to tears - mission accomplished!

Last quarter against the Aints in the prelim easy. If you weren't at the G, then the Aussie Rules club was the second best place to be. It was deafining and twas great to see some of the Aints teenage fans slouched down and crying in the club when we blitzed them

2nd fave would be the Geelong Semi.

3rd would be the last quarter of the 1st Essendon game when Moorey kicked a goal to kick start our comeback.

Ditto for me. Last quarter against the saints was the most devistating 10 minutes of footy i've seen from the swans since the Port power final a couple of years ago. Being there was sensational and i guess seeing them win a final live for the first time in my life was absolutely sensational. Most excited i've ever been at the footy.

Last 1/4 against Geelong was a very close second. Still struggle to see how we one that one!!! But we did and what followed is now history!!

Another great 1/4 was the game against the Dogs (Oh! how i hate the dogs). Seeing Lukey V step up and nail the game was awesome!!

I think my favourite H&A is the 4th qtr agst the Tigers...it seemed the lads suddenly realised exactly what they could do.

Looking back I liked every game of the finals with the exception of the Geelong game. The Geelong game was probably the worst feeling I've had....I thought we'd blown it. I still watch the last 13 odd minutes and it seems like a dream.

I must say for post-game euphoria I put that game ahead of Essendon in '96 - which I thought would never be beaten.

Even the initial loss to WCE I felt the dream was still alive and we weren't far off and it was a cracker of a game! My favourite bits were post match interviews where the players would say something about the win moving them one step closer or "we've got one more job to do" as Baz said after the PF.

has to be 4th quarter of the grand final.
but another favourite , was 4th quarter v carlton at telstra dome, To lead all day then get the jitters in the last quarter, but then we finally blew them off the park in the last 20mins and all of this in Front of a carlton home crowd. Fantastic

Aside from the final quarter in the GF and the same against Sainters in the prelim the second quarter against the Cats earlier on in the season was tops.
