So he turned up and found training was in old school portables and headed off.

Waste of talent - here is aplayer that may have been better off if whe was drafted a few years later and more mature
You don't ban those who supported your opponent, you make them wallow in their loserdom by covering your victory! You sit them in the front row. You give them a hat! Toby Ziegler

No one has told him that he was actually at North.

Apparently he's just gone off looking for a club with AFL standard training facilities.

Perhaps he bleeds red and white, and no amount of money can make him a roo.

I think Tuesday is right...he turned up at Norf and found that he wanted to be at the red and white.

Also I think having taught kids who are like Powellly, and that he found he really didn't have the inner strength and was happy to go with what ever excuse presented itself.

Met him a few times .. had some latent talent. Reminded me of Kelly in his gait, and attitude towards the footy - good hardness. But young. Very young .. and I do believe that heading Rooward would have been very very difficult.

I have to agree with that.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

For some, the environment is just as important as the job.
Should he have departed for the reasons I believe, then I respect him for his decision. He listened to his heart and I wish him all the best in whatever comes next.

But imagine how much the Roos are spitting chips!

So he'd prefer to do nothing and make no money?!?! What a load of rot!

I don't blame him for his decision - I guess you always have to listen to what your heart really wants - but surely he could have come to this decision before the lists were finalised so the Roos could have picked another player, rather than taking up a spot on the list for a couple of weeks!

If his heart really bleeds red and white, I'm sure the reserves could use a top-up player - at least he can wear the colours!

                              Ah, suck it up Bloods!

From the sketchy details we know, this was the choice:
Play with the Roos, live in Melbourne, be unhappy
                              or
come back to Sydney, play for fun, be happy and earn a packet from Daddy-in-Law.

He has made his choice, and it does not mean he's sitting on his @rse and not making any money. He has decided to forego an opportunity to play footy for a living. There are a lot of us out there who fall into the 'non-professional athlete' category and who manage to still manage to survive . I think he'll be ok in the real world.
