I've been wracking my brain but I still can't think of anyone in the Swans who would be suitable...

Why would you like to see the Swans lose some of its best players to American NFL? I wouldnt like to see that at all. And I couldnt give a fat rats about 'legitimising' our game to the Yanks. We dont need to legitimise it to anyone (talk about cultural cringe!).

They wont be looking at our team. They'll be scouting Rocca (if he goes).

I'm sure they'll be impressed by Bazza, but there is noone in our team who is 6'5, solidly built and kicks a ball 70m.

Yep - you'd think Rocca is a monty.

I think given Ben Graham has made it, talent scouts would have been to AFL games in Australia already.

You know the fat guy you were sitting next to who kept asking who's that big player over there whilst complaining the hot dogs are to small.

If it was to happen, it surely wouldn't happen for a few years. Most likely toward the end of a player's career. I can understand why a fan wouldn't want to lose one of their best players to another code, but wouldn't you want a player nearing the end of their career to have the opportunity to cash in for a few more season's when they would have to give the game away in the AFL? That's what I meant.

With regards to legitimacy, it's about perspective. You wake up each day knowing you live in a country where your code of football is arguably THE code of football. You can immerse yourself in the game with little effort. No doubt you'd give a rat's arse about what we're doing over here. I wake up each day thinking of ways to get more people aware/involved in the game. Trying to think of ways to answer the response, "Oh you mean Rugby" without wanting rip out the person's spine. My life is a pitiful one, living vicariously through supporters on a fan forum, imagining how great it would have been able to plan my day around going to the Swans/Geelong prelim, and reality is I wake up at 4:30 in the morning to listen to the game on the internet. So with apologies, sometimes my imperialistic Yank world view gets the best of me, but maybe you can see a different perspective.

I don't know very much about American football, but according to a couple of folks I work with Ben Graham is very much an oddity at his height. Most punters are around the 6' mark anyway.
I knew him as a gentle young man, I cannot say for sure the reasons for his decline
We watched him fade before our very eyes, and years before his time

                    Howdy

The article was saying there would also be scouts watching from the College league and they would offer a scholarship if they saw the potential in any of the players.

Im not sure how College football works but would this indicate a younger player may be looked at? Are ther age limits on College football??

                    Cheers

I think Dempster is going to be a fantastic footballer, I was looking more at the punting side of the game. I reckon our guys with the no @@@@heads rule are to smart to play in the other positions in US Football

ROK has a long high kick for goal eg. his last goal in the Saints pre-final.

You would need to ask him,"How's it hanging?" I suppose.

Tsk tsk did I just say that?

It is what the punters are measured on.
